That's some good customer service! How many miles or laps did you get out of those and what kind of pressure do you run?

Also for the hubs you could JB weld them or use some freeze plugs to fill in the holes.

So the last pair of fronts gave me 6 track days and maybe 2000 street miles. This set gave me 4 track days then did that.

rears are 10 track days and still pretty ok lol. Just flip them side to side but they’re wearing slowly and evenly

as for pressure I run 34-35psi hot front and 35-36psi hot rear

Got my AIM MXm dash logger finally installed.

such a cool piece. It’s wired into the cars Canbus so it’s pulling all the stock info from the ecu but it also has 7 additional external inputs.

2 of those I will use for oil temp/pressure. In the future boost will also be displayed here.

on top of that I now have a lap timer that cannot be debated(people sometimes cry about using phones for lap timing) and I will have full data collection including G forces, speed, throttle trace, brake trace(not sure how great this one will be) and basically everything else ever. This will help me as I approach the limits of grip with the car. It’ll show me things like too much throttle too early, or not enough throttle early enough.

the laps are overlaid into a Google maps image of the track, where it then shows you your line through the corner, as well as any other data you may want. It’s pretty cool.

Wish I took some more pictures of install. I will once I have my car back home
Currently the car is at the shop having the tires swapped, alignment modified, and an exhaust leak needs to be found and fixed.

I leave for Michigan on Friday to do a lapping weekend at gingerman. I’m so excited lol
    1D9C8C8C-5FBE-4823-A2D9-BBE02DF4059A.png

I have the shift light set, and am currently displaying rpm, coolant temp, and iat’s as well as lap time.

once I get the car home I’ll play with the layout some more and see what I really need. Probably keep coolant temp, rpm, laptime and afr listed.

speed I’ll swap out with oil pressure once I install the sensor.

It was stupid money but it will be very well used so I can justify the cost.

totally a cool toy though lol. The feature set/capabilities are awesome.

Video of this idiot in a caged gutted Subaru race car slowing me down. What a nightmare man.

data was collected with an external 10hz gps hooked up to a phone running race chrono.

The ms6 is my buddies car. It’s got wheels tires brakes suspension alignment all track prepped. 255/40/17 re71’s. Also bnr s4. Vdyno has it around 340whp.

I actually caught him before he caught the Subaru. Then on lap 7 I catch him again but had to shut it down.

He was about 1-2seconds a lap slower then me by the end of the day after some coaching. Not bad for me considering the power difference lol.

That golf was actually a golf R lol. First time ever on track.

My buddy had his golf R there. 380whp stock turbo car. Also on re71’s. I was 10 seconds a lap faster then him lol.

I was missing my Mazda a ton when I was behind that Subaru. With that power I would’ve passed that idiot a long time ago.

I need to boost the civic lol.

Boost is always the answer. Would you run a supercharger or turbo? That's the real question. I would think for the track a supercharger would be ideal.

So I’ve thought a lot about this seeing as I do have my forged motor sitting waiting for assembly.

the kraftwerks rotrex kit is one I’ve looked at alot. It’ll make 360-400whp on pump gas. It’s easy to install, easy to service. Everything’s installed up front and that’s it away you go.
It’ll make plenty of power for the cars weight and the power band should be nice.

this said I’ve also looked at running an efr 7670 setup. I’ve seen what it can do on a basic k20 build like mine.

the turbo has basically no limitations. Rev it to 10k make 300whp or 700whp. Or anything in between. With the rotrex setup you cannot rev the car past 8300rpm(over runs the blower) and the car will only ever make a max of 400whp best case. Also have to deal with belt slippage which is a popular issue with that kit.

I’m really thinking when the time comes I’ll go turbo. I’ll probably run low boost 10psi and just see how that goes.

a local tuner just posted a video of his bone stock k20 si with a gtx35r.
    At 10psi he made 421whp / 287wtq.
At 13psi it made 460whp / 315wtq. This is all on our pump 94. The power band is also super fat from 4500rpm to 8500rpm. Definitely a ton of power with like no boost.

    I’ll get there eventually lol.

With the revs that car can do plus road course use should eliminate spool issues due to keeping the revs up I wouldn't hamstring yourself with the supercharger

Unless you could snag a used one cheap since it seems plug and play from your description

I thought with the blue flags being waved he would’ve gotten the point.

it was almost end of day and I wanted to get the laps in. This incident almost resulted in a fight in the pits. I was going to knock this idiots head off with what he said to me. “Well maybe I didn’t want to let you and your shitty Honda pass”
“It’s too bad you didn’t go off track I was hoping you would have”

after he made those statements I got real loud. He backed off immediately. Then my buddy came over.

The track day organizer(personal friend of mine) saved this guys life. He’s lucky.

I didn’t think Honda hate was like a real thing but after listening to this meth head go on about “how shitty my honda is” I understood he was just salty. Spent 3x the money to go 14 seconds slower.

His fully caged, gutted, race livery wrx was getting fucked by a stock civic si. Sucks to suck but his attitude was most upsetting to me.
I was expecting the usual “omg bro I’m sorry I’m new and I was nervous sorry sorry”. Not what he actually said. He deserved a knock out.

Used rotrex kits come up once in a while. It’s definitely a massive temptation for me lol. God I want boost.

I think I’ll end up going efr in the future. 7670 setup. Seeing what it made on my Honda guys k20…I need it in my life lol.

I wouldn't bother with a half-measure then on a used rotrex kit. When you go with your forged motor or see the timing is right get the 7670 and call it a day since that's what you actually want.

You’re not wrong for sure. I definitely want to buy once and cry once.

my motor build has been specifically spec’d out for 9500rpm+. From the wrist pins to the rod bolts to the valve train.

would be a shame to only rev it to 8300rpm.

Heres the video a local tuner here did recently, just for reference. ive time stamped it for you.

His motor is bone stock, unopened. 330,000km(205,052 miles) on it

Screen shot of the dyno graph. Look at that torque line. Flow is everything. remember. STOCK MOTOR. I will have a slight cam upgrade, a little more compression, and a ported head/larger throttle body. now extend that to 9500rpm. If i learned anything from my mazda build this setup will be down right terrifying. from the moment boost hits, youre basically riding peak torque for more rpm then...like anything else.
imagine a little boost taper up to 15psi by 9500rpm. Its silly to think about.

That's the reason people K Swap Miata's. I figured whenever my BP engine blows up I might as well go K series. Even stock K series has amazing output and some people see 250-260 wheel horsepower with some tuning and other supporting mods. That's what some guys who turbocharged their BP's make around 10 psi on a small turbo.

    Lol yea exactly this.

my car is currently around 180-190whp.

With a 3” exhaust, throttle body upgrade, and the $150 tsx cams I have the car will make 220-230whp.

with a real cam, 240whp is pretty achievable. All on a stock motor still. It only goes up from there. A relatively budget k24 build will make 260-300whp pretty easily with the correct bolt ons and cams. We still haven’t upgraded the bottom end. Little more compression…and yea. It’s cool

It’s silly how high the VE is on these k series.

my Mazda with the best manifolds you can get, reasonably sized turbo made 370ish whp at 21psi
My buddies k20 build which we mirrored for my build made 660whp at 21psi. Efr 7670. Full spool by 4200rpm. You really can’t get any better then that.

This season has been all about driver mod, and chassis/suspension tuning. Now that the chassis is basically dialed with mental grip levels when I do finally add power…it should be magical. I want to start in the low 300’s at first. We’ll go from there lol
