    Hello mates

I had to remove the left drive shaft in my Mazdaspeed 3 Gen 1, and in the process of removing it, I damaged the dust protector metal ring that covers the transaxle left oil seal. It seems I cannot find it anywhere other than buying a whole new left drive shaft, so my question is, is it ok to insert the left drive shaft into the gearbox without the metal dust cover? I guess it only protects the transaxle left oil seal which was just installed new. And if I have to get this dust deflector, can I match it with any other type of car as Mazda does not supply it?

You could try reaching out to one of the companies that remanufactures the axles and see if they would sell you just that part

    Thanks for the reply mate

I managed to get one from a CV specialist shop who took it off a new shaft and installed it on my vehicle drive shaft and he even declined to charge me. very nice

    Cheers
