Our CX-7 was going on 5 years old, and has been outside 99% of the time. They was some hazing started on the lights, do I bought the $25 Heavy Duty kit. This is what I bought:

Tape off around the headlight with painter's tape to protect the headlight.

Then wet sand the headlight by hand with the 1000 grit that attaches to the awesome gripper pad. this will remove the haze pretty quickly. Wipe with microfiber towel to make sure it is sanded uniformly.

Switch paper to the 3000 grit, and wet sand headlight some more. Wipe with microfiber towel to make sure it is sanded uniformly.

Then use the buffing wheel with the polish and a cordless drill to polish the headlight to a shine. I used plenty of polish, and still had lots left after both. I used my drill at the highest speed, too.
Once you can wipe the polish off and it is looking awesome, then apply the protectant with the microfiber towel and done. They look like new again, but there are some internal cracks/crystallization that cannot be removed. Still 1000 times better.

Nice job on the DIY. beats paying 700-800 bucks on a new pair of headlights.

Yeah, I cannot believe people do that still. I have also heard people using toothpaste and Off bug spray. Not sure how well it works long term.

I do know my Speed3 needs it now, getting fading on the top of the headlights.

It's faded a lot. But you can see it's still there

It looks great for about 6 months or so, then you gotta redo it. I wish that protectant lasted longer! I've cleaned up the MSP headlights about a half-dozen times. It's about time for another round, actually.

    Nice work/how-to!

Ours lasted at least a year in all day sun, then a quick touch up on top.

What kit did you use. Going to have time to tackle this in a few months and want to have something ordered.

If you're asking me, then I used Mirka abralon pads (500/1000/2000) and Spray Max 2k Glamour High Gloss Clear coat (part USC-3680061)
