Alright, so since I FINALLY decided to start posting on this new forum, I realized my words held little weight with my Greenie status and all, not something I'm really used to, but completely understandable. With that said, I wanted to give a little Bio to those who don't know me. I will keep this as short as possible and just give an overview of my timeline with this platform, because those who do know me, know how long it would take me to detail all of my mazdaspeed experiences. I'll post MSF links to relevant, more detailed info if you feel like going down a black hole of information. I'd rather not have to link the other forum, but it's the best way I could come up with to get this info consolidated over here. If you come across and specific threads, build details, etc that anyone wants to dive into in more detail, I'll happily start threads over here to expand on those topics.

    Name - Mark Gibson
    MSF SN - Realgib3
Car - 08.5 CWP MS3, 06 VRM MS6, and soon to be another secret street project.

    -2008 -
Bought my Speed 3 in 08 and immediately began modding, buying an AP, and running the first version of ATR, the day it was finally released for our platform. I was never able to stop after that day.

    - Feb 2010-
Started working with some other great guys on MSF, along with Cobb to expose more tables in ATR, refine some tuning strategies, and find/test/defeat the "wall", which would later be named "Load Cap V1"

    http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/forum/f418/maf-s-afr-s-load-calc-s-48313/

And that testing then led to the "wall" finally being broken, which later led to Cobb releases more load limit tables in ATR. Before the tables were available though, this is what we had to do to get around it.

    -Apr 2010-Sep 2011
Made the switch to the CPE Standback for more testing. Lots of crazy theories were flying around at this time.

    http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/forum/f510/cp-e-ftmfw-54782/

Tuned the car on stock turbo and SB, switched to a Super Stock Turbo (OG BNR), tuned some more, made more strides with Cobb, so switched back to AP from Standback.

    -Oct 2011-May 2012
Went BT for the 1st time with a bolt-on GTX3076R, did a lot of different testing on the 100+ maps for this setup, over 20k+ miles, including early Ethanol mix testing, pushing the stock fuel system to the absolute limit, etc.Made 400+ and enjoyed the hell outa the car as a daily. Also, developed an auxiliary fuel injection system between 2012-2013. Though it wasn't something I ever went to production with, It was been a great setup for my person car.

    -May 2012-May 2013
Got a built shortblock from Pablo (who later started SeedPerf6manc3). Ran that engine with my 6466 setup, made 430 on stock fuel system alone and >600 with my secondaries, then the head lifts began...

    -June 2013-Apr 2014
Started building my own engines, H11 head studs came out, made 57x on the dyno, turned the boost up, head lifts continued... Lots of info in this thread.

    -2014-
Built a bigger setup, Euro trans, built more engines, made lots of power, lifted more heads. At least I was able to get 2/3 of a run down the track and ended the year with a 11.31@130.5... but yet again head gasket went by by.

    -2015/16-

I bought the stock motor from Jake (etipp) when he decided to finally go built and I put that longblock in my 6 for a comfy daily.

    http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/forum/f541/realgib3-builds-super-stock-speed-6-daily-191999/

Bottom end from the 2014 build went into the Speed and that car was just setup to be sold. Got the car looking nice again, FBO street setup with the built motor, stock turbo, and a tune. The car is still running great today with a guy I sold it to from my home town. Couldn't use my favorite HCR pistons in this rebuild though because I bent the wrist pins at 40+ psi on standard pins and couldn't get "HD" pins in time. On a side note, HD pins are now available and easy to get.

I know this was a ton of info, but hopefully it gives a good overview of where I come from with this platform and if anyone has any questions or wants clarification on anything, don't hesitate to ask, because believe it or not, there is a LOT more detail I could go into haha.

I always enjoyed your builds. I'm still waiting to see what your next car/build will be since you're not touching the MS6.

Thanks for the background. I knew who you were, Mark, but was just interested in the whp limit stuff you always hear. Like I said in the other thread, being stock block I always err on the side of caution when I hear the same "400+whp = borrowed time" rhetoric over and over, you know?

All good. I was way past due for starting to bring stuff over here and get discussions going again. I just couldn't take it with the platform anymore and needed a break the past year. Also, this was something I had originally written for FB a while back, so I didn't have to do all that much to put all the info here too.
