I hear that the AWD system is a little weird on the Dyno. It overuses the rear tires, so the numbers aren't correct when using an AWD dyno, so they disable AWD for the dyno process. Did you guys disable AWD for this?

I don't have the specs on that. It is a twin scroll K04ish turbo though, that is all I really know. It really doesn't fall on its face too bad either. The RS's I've tuned have all been up here in denver at over 5250asl. They will hold 22psi to redline which is pretty amazing considering the K04 in the Mazda will do no more than 16psi up here at redline. And even though there is a little drop off in the graph, that could have easily been made up for with a little more spark advance. The customer doesn't want to push his car too much though so I stopped at his request. He is running 13.17's up here at around 108-109mph which is really good considering the 5800'asl track.

It is a little weird. We didn't disable the AWD for his dyno tuning and it was fine for most of the day. There were a couple pulls that happened sporadically through out the session where it would get weird, and you can see in the logs where the source for the active tables are. After searching Cobb's dealer sight for the source code, I figured out the source was from traction control tables or something like that which I believe to be from the AWD system doing its weird thing on the dyno. Now Cobb allows you to put the car in Dyno Mode from the AP which will be super helpful in the future. Either way, the results were consistent with other RS's so I don't think the AWD caused the numbers to skew.

Weird. I'm assuming dyno mode is just 5050 distribution or something? I saw people posting dyno numbers with the AWD disabled during their days and remember thinking that that was bs. I really like that grey on that thing. Definitely the one I would get.

Dyno mode disables the rear drive. Puts it in FWD only. And yes, if I hadn't just purchased a 2016 WRX a year ago, I'd be on a list for the RS right now.
