Never curbed that tire, however I have not contacted the Michelin as I'm not the original purchaser, I bought them with probably around 8k km on the at most >85% tread life

Maybe the previous owner did. Or perhaps it was just a manufacturing defect. Good luck getting the replacement covered! Hopefully the warranty is transferable, or not asked about...

After getting the fuel pump out of the car, finally, I replaced my coolant temp sensor and all is right in the world for now. OCC and complete brake change coming soon!

Dad's car. It goes beyond words. You have to experience it to appreciate it. Suffice it to say that it feels a lot different than a hot hatch (though my car is a good deal faster at its power level). It's literally like a street-legal racecar in how it handles, brakes, etc; a ridiculously impractical machine designed for pure performance driving ecstasy - the number one priority is a no-compromises minimalist supercar of the ultra-lightweight category. Basically, there's nothing you could ever do to a Speed to replicate the experience; it's a completely different class of car. It also holds the Nurburgring track time record in its power category.

Minus the fact that a corvette stingray can be had for less, and beats it in every performance category I do like the 4c. It looks nice at least. Too bad it cost to much for what it is. If they could come down like 10K that would be a great deal for that car.

Different strokes for different folks. The manufacturing technology on the 4c is far more sophisticated than any Vette. That's the main reason for the cost. It's actually astounding they can offer it for ~$55k for how it's made/hand-built at the Maserati plant, etc. My father's is highly optioned and is ~$15k more than the base model, and even lighter.

Can faster cars be had for less? Yes. My Speed proves this. But it is what it is: a 3/4 scale Ferrari, often called the most affordable supercar in the world.

Yeah, but stock for stock Im talking here. I just think the 4c is over priced.

I hear ya. You wouldn't buy one. But many true car enthusiasts would, because it's their cup of tea (not a backhanded comment - I understand it's just not for you).

Facts: it is by far the least expensive car with a carbon fiber monocoque chassis, extruded aluminum subframes, and all sorts of straight-from-the-race-track tech. I'm actually astounded how inexpensive it is with all of its tech, which is extremely pricey and needs hand-built (which adds further cost). With that in mind, it's a steal. The next lowest cost car with all of those features is easily twice the price. And holding the Nurburgring record in its segment is just the icing on the cake.

What's the point of those features if the performance of the car is it up to the level of cars without those features. I prefer to do more with less than to do less with more

TL;DR apples and oranges. Heck, apples and pizza, LOL.

It's not in the same segment as a 3000+ lb car with a huge V8 and manufacturing techniques used in Chevrolets, so that's not an apt comparison, all things considered. The fact that Vettes have much in common, interior and construction-wise, to cars like Chevy Malibus definitely saves cost, too.

Purist extension-of-your-body driving experience and pursuit of the performance automotive engineering Holy Grail: ultra-lightweight. That's a 4c's design concept, and it executes it amazingly. That's the point of the supercar design/manufacturing methods, and it makes a VERY noticeable driving experience, numbers comparison notwithstanding. And I'd say holding the Nurburgring record in its segment proves it's more than up to the level of other supercars, at least in its power category. The idea that design and manufacturing techniques is all about specs misses the point in key ways - it's about far more than mere performance numbers.

Ultra-lightweight cars don't have Hellcat horsepower, Why should they? That's not part of their design concept. It's all about the intangibles, Ken. A no-compromises driving experience. To appreciate the difference between a Vette and this requires actually driving them. It can't be explained merely with words, in my experience. Why do they use race-tech design and construction? Because it makes a very noticeable driving difference, plain and simple. Numbers most certainly aren't everything with cars.

You know how some cars have "soul"? You know how they feel like an extension of your body? It's all about stuff like that. Pagani said it best about these types of cars. To him, even calling them "cars" is a disservice to what they are. Tunability potential is very high, too, being a turbo car. It's engine is notoriously overbuilt/robust, and it can be very easily tuned for not much $$$ to eviscerate a Stingray, no problem, if modding a car like a 4c is your thing. 4c >>> Stingray any day of the week, for me. Having driven high-powered RWD V8s, (like my bro's 5.0) and the 4c, there's no comparison for me. It's such a big/noticeable difference that to call them both the same thing, "automobiles," seems inappropriate. Oh, and 4c's get 40+ MPG on the highway, too. What's a Vette get? o.0

Why don't you test drive one and see what you think? I'd be interested in your evaluation.

    /end @Maisonvi & Redline derail, LOL

You're both wrong. Miata is always the answer... ls swapped hits power numbers, still super lightweight. ;)

LOL. Imagine a Miata that weighs less, has almost a hundred extra horsepower, is mid-engine/RWD, and has all of the rigidity/strength benefits of exotic construction ;)

I know what you're saying, though. And it's true that you could do a TON with a Miata shell and a $50k budget, for sure :D Valid point...
