I'm working on my in tank fuel pump set up with my 450 pump. I bought a kit that comes with a filter, and a hose to run to the feed on the pump. Its a fully submersible fuel line, and was supposed to be a direct fit to the pump, but as the pictures show it wont work.

ID of the heater hose I have that fits is 3/8" the hose that came with the kit measures 0.300". Zero chance that it will fit. Writing the company to see if I hopefully got the wrong hose. Otherwise I will be annoyed I spent $25 on a "kit" that doesn't fit.

Squeezed in a bit of work this weekend. Don't have much in the way of pictures right now. Finished up my fuel pump basket, and routed all the lines in the car (just not hooked up yet). Hopefully I got the wiring right. went black to black and blue to red. hope that works. No idea how to check it.

I want to get it all back together and make sure it drives ok as it sits right now before I start changing more things and have to trouble shoot issues with multiple changes so the pump basket will wait till then.

Looking more and more like I have an oil leak on the timing cover. Really dont want to deal with that. Also my sandwich plate is leaking, that will have to get fixed next oil change.

Did some test fitting today on my brake ducting. Need to do a bit of tweaking to get it where I wanted, and measured for the back spacers. Going to weld on the tube and make it ready for the tubing. Hopefully the 2" tube is enough air, Im worried it wont be big enough.

Dont overthink it, that size should be fine, any ducting is better than none. A lot of brake ducts kits for many cars are 2" ducting, sometimes smaller.

Yeha Im going to go with it, there is the possibility of adding a second 2" duct above if end up needing it. Routing the hose will just be weird.

Slower speeds (tight autocross, etc) need larger ducting, higher speeds need less.

So the wife and baby are gone for the weekend so Im going to spend most of working on the car. First up was re-gapping spark plugs, and changing out the serpentine belt. Both those went without much fan fare. Next up was getting the fuel pump basket in and lines run. Everything was going well till I tried to pull the hose off the boost nipple on the fuel pressure regulator and I snapped it off. Ended up spending the better part of an hour making a new nipple and tapping the regulator. Seems to work but we will see when I pressure test it tomorrow

Ken have you checked your tophat since you've put it in? I was doing some diagnosis last night after filling up and noticed my bulkhead fitting weep a bit when the tank is full. Going to seal them to the tophat with some fuel proof sealant.

@John and I think @SharksInSpace were asking about my fire extinguisher mount. Here it is. Sits in front of the passenger seat, legs dont come close to touching it when some is sitting there and its in easy reach of the driver. This is with the seat all the way back I think.

Awesome, thanks! Been curious how that mount would affect space in the footwell, since I'd like to grab an extinguisher for peace of mind one of these days.

Did you ever get around to your 1000cc pi tune? Interested on where pump gas can get me. I have a set of 1000 id and would prefer pump over mix to make it easy

Injectors are sitting there waiting for me to install. I just need 15 min to do it (which I apperently cant find) Maybe tonight, I might pull the "its my birthday" card and use that to do some work on the car.

    Happy Birthday!

Also, great idea on the extinguisher. I think I'll apply that to the track car.
