Like I said, the Nylock on the nut (the little plastic in the head of the nut) is really only intended to be used once. As soon as you loosen it, there are threads cut in it that arent going to hold as well.

That said, no, I dont replace my t-bolt clamp nuts every time I take them off. But I have swapped them after a year or 2 of taking them on and off. And if you put them on with an impact or anything electric that spins them fast, that could cause a compromise of the plastic in the nut as well.

I had a similar problem with my cpe fmic kit but I just figured I had a clamp that wasn't exactly parallel to the ends of the silicone coupler so after a few cycles it would've corrected it's orientation and not had sufficient clamping to seal. In any case after my second round of boost leak testing (first was at install time) it's been problem free for nearly 2 years.

@Quigs Do you have the specific model number of the older 5000 lb units (for googling purposes)? I might try to find any that are still out there.

The old version is BL-5000. Email nmarin@quickjack.com and tell him you'd like a BL-5000 for $1095 shipped. Google will not bring up much, you'll most likely only find info on the newer BL-5000SLX. Though, if you don't have a small car where length isn't as much of an issue, the updated version has a longer frame and hits the jack points on a Speed better. Shoot me a PM if you have any other specific questions, I've been researching the QuickJack for over a year haha.

EDIT - there are 31 units available of the older one as of April 10. Once they are gone there will be no more, only the SLX line will remain in production.

Pushed the parts car across the garage yesterday. Swung the ass end of build car out so it can be pulled from storage. Installed AWR adjustable links in the rear end on that one on the new Whiteline rsb. Oil return line starts tomorrow.

Forgot to mention that the salesperson's name is Nicholas. He was very helpful with getting me exactly what I was looking for.

I just used the QuickJack this past weekend to do a clutch swap on my buddy's car. While it still sucks being on your back and working above you, it was much, much nicer than working under jackstands. There was never a time where I thought I needed more room and I was able to lay on my side completely underneath the car. The height was also nice for working bent over the engine bay without putting the strain on my knees and back that normally occurs when working on jackstands. So far I am very happy with the purchase.

I installed the ebay downpipe last week and flashed VT's downpipe tune. Works great but now the smoke monster is attacking me. I ordered a CS Turbo , CS 3.5 bar map, Grimspeed EBCS and HTP 3.5 intake to defeat the smoke monster. I did a vdyno with my current setup and getting 255 hp 254 wtq on 93.
