You all are full of great idea's. Ended up going to my local harbor freight and purchased a nice metric tap and die set that had the M14 1.5 that is needed for this yob. I used the standard tap to attempt to clean up the threads and well, I think it was successful.

I'll measure out the hole and take in consideration the thickness of the CS mounting bracket and get the longest replacement bolt possible without bottoming it out. If the hole does not hold the torque and fails then I will have to drill and use my HeliCoil kit that I have.

Finally... it's coming together. Sure is nice to get that block off the garage floor.

Found some old pictures from when the engine was being built back in 2015. Figured I'd share. I still think it's quite silly that a built block has had 3 owners and never been fired.

Dont be afraid to throw a washer or two on that bolt so that you can use a longer one without bottoming out.

And be really certain you didnt bottom out

I found a bunch of different length M14 bolts at my local store, practiced screwing them in. Picked the one that bottomed out 1/4" from seat without the bracket. The bracket is 3/8" thick and I used one washer when installing it so we should be good. It did torque successfully to 65 ft lbs, so far. I honestly did not want to push it and ruin my day.

Well, do you want the truth or do you want me to tell you I put loctite on it?

After seeing all this pics of fun stuff I had to go back and read the first post. 750hp DD had me sold!

I am so jealous of all you gearheads and all the knowledge you have. I've been reading here and there, but damn I still have so much to learn!

I do not know if I will make it to 750hp because I lack the money right now for the fueling, but maybe one day I'll get up there.

I finally got the new seals installed and put in the driver & passenger Axles.

I have this procedure that I do when taking things apart. I leave left side on left and right side on right. After putting all the suspension components back together and torquing everything down. I started to look at the components, and to me everything seems to be backwards. Am I crazy or were these actually installed left on right and right on left? The end links are not at a 90 degree angle they are at like a 70 degree.

I am pretty sure you have it reversed. End link goes to the rear of the car and the brake line goes to the front.

    crapatalk it sucks for free

That's what I thought. I wonder how long the Previous owner ran the car that way.

Given the stripped rear mount I'm sure you have your work cut out for you.

Hopefully the previous owner didn't use vegetable oil to run the motor.
