Should be fun! Curious to see how your car does as well as Norm's; since he's revving his bitch out to 8400 and has the 16w IM

He's also probably making 60whp+ more than me (so far as the internet is aware of anyway) so I don't think there'll be much competition there. Based on his parts list and dyno sheet, I wouldn't be surprised at all if I gave him minimal competition. I just hope Nishan's crew wins with grace this weekend. (I hope even more that I'm faster than at least one of them though)

Is Will bringing out the Speed or the Caddy to run at all?

He's going to be taking the Grandpa car this weekend unfortunately. You need DOT tires for the event and I'm honestly not sure he has a set for the Speed6 lol

Lame, 900hp and gearing for speed would hurt feelings

It was a great weekend! It's been a while since myself and my MazdaSpeed friends had a good successful weekend with cars. Surprisingly enough, none of us broke anything, I didn't push any coolant, lose any oil, etc... For a built motor MS3, driving 200mi to an event, doing numerous pulls in 5th gear, and being able to drive back is a pretty big accomplishment. I'd say that speaks highly of the motor builder ;)

So, here's my favorite photo first:

    FB_IMG_1505742215754.jpg

This was my first or second run. I could tell the GT3 RS didn't want to run me but the official made sure he did. Considering that Porsche does the quarter in 11.1 and tops out around 190mph or so, I was pretty happy to beat him. Often times the big boys with their expensive cars didn't want to run us little Mazdas...

Here's the summary of all my passes:

    Screenshot_20170917-180802.png

In the two fastest passes, I lifted when I shifted into fifth. I could NOT for the life of me nail that 4-5 ffs so I'm thinking it's a limitation in my transmission, shifter, or something... There's 156k miles on all of those things so they owe me nothing.

    Random images:

    IMG_20170917_092804.jpg

All in all, it was a great weekend with some great friends. I feel I could've hit 140mph if I were to nail that fifth gear shift but there's always next year! I have a new(er) transmission just waiting to go in and maybe I'll do shift cables/shifter while I have the car apart for that.

This is me vs. a blower Corvette. I trapped 137mph this run, I believe he trapped 147. So, he was obviously faster than me lol but it's still neat to see.

and then a rear-view against some dumb fast turbo E36 BMW:

    and then vs. a KillahBuilt 30R MS3:

I found that early on when I tried to start the race alongside someone, it was hard to keep the proper starting speed. So after that I just said screw that and made sure to get a good start to my race, and let the other person do whatever they wanted.

    Edit: added in better videos

60 was the goal but anything inside 55-65 was acceptable.

Apparently there was a YouTube dude taking video who likes Mazdas!

Not sure where he got the whole "650hp" from but he's probably close. You can really see how not straight my car wants to drive when doing a pull. Hopefully soon I'll get the time to swap out bushings in the front end to potentially tighten that up.
