I have a small rattle on cold start ... like a VVT problem ... but my chain doesn't have any loose ... do you have an idea what it could be ???

The oil I have right now is => Amsoil Signature Series 0W40

I just finish my build engine ... with the stage 3 package from Edge auto Sport. So all news VTT with all the part ... I don't have the noise for like the first 200-300km but until than and now I'm 970km ... I heard it not everytime and not always as loud as sometime ... it's why I ask ... maybe someone got this problem already and have a solution avoiding to remove a lot of part again to see if it's the VVT actuator ...

Maybe it's just like in this video and actuator isn't tight enough => Mazdaspeed 3 VVT fail after 175 miles

So it was asked a few pages ago... where are you from?
    What are the PTW clearances?

That's exactly what I was thinking. Also why I inquired which pistons ended up going in it. Chances are very slim it's vvt. Could be hpfp noise, could be piston slap.

That seems like larger clearance than what most pistons call for

Jesus that build is fucked if the clearance is .0045 with a 4032 piston lol.

I mean shit even 2618 pistons don’t call for that much clearance. Manley and wiseco Pistons with 2618 material call for .0035 at the MOST. That build won’t last very long haha. In b4 ZZB.

Yep. And the advised p2w clearance is likely clearly stated in the booklet that comes in the box with the pistons

I just find it funny this guy spent all this money and wasted all our time having us research for him since he didn’t do a damn thing to research for a “proper build” and yet he damn near double the required clearance for a 4032 piston. Can’t fix stupid haha.

It's the VVT the locking pin break ... and I found it in my oil pan. So new DCR VVT install. I hope I will never talk again about VVT for a long time.

I wouldn’t worry. Soon you will be talking about PWC after your motor blows with that sloppy clearance you allowed. You’ll forget all about VVT.
