This week I had the CorkSport Bypass Valve installed. I was going to do their high pressure fuel line but my service guru recommended against it as it is smaller in diameter and the tubing I have now is steel. This BPV makes even cooler sounds with a pop now and then.

There are few things that are as relaxing and exhilarating than running my Speed through the gears with the windows open! Here in Arizona this is windows-down, no AC time of the year and I am enjoying it!

Seems like you're adding new parts pretty regularly. That's awesome

Hopped in my MSP after a month long trip to Kauai. It fired right up on the 1st crank after sitting in the rain and NorCal winter storms. I thought the battery would be weak or maybe some water would be in the trunk or at least a low tire.
Nope. All good. 12+ years later I still love the thing.
Why do I still love a car that's worth about 5K? It's pretty quick, corners better than 90% of the cars on the road, gets nearly 30mpg, I can roll with two friends, my dog and three surfboards inside, it will never try to change lanes, hit the brakes or snitch to the internet on me, it ain't bad looking, etc.

30mpg? I don’t think I’ve ever gotten better than 24. I average around 22. I must be doing something wrong.

Did the WOT BOX!!! Im 2 steping every light and FFS every gear in all the parking lots!!

Its actually very nice ignition based FFS and antilag. I only did it since my aux fueling would continue to spray and fuck my couch with cobbs fuel based cut.

A Mazdaspeed Protege (MSP) does 30mpg. Not an MS3 though.

    2003 MazdaSpeed Protege
    Compact car
    Horsepower: 170 hp
    MPG: 24 city / 30 highway
    Curb weight: 2,843 lbs
    Engine: 2.0 L 4-cylinder
Wheel size: 17″ diameter, 7″ width
    Fuel tank capacity: 14.5 gal

I realize this is the MS3 forum, but I just replied to this from the recent threads bar. The little car's a tank!

It also weighs nearly 450 pounds less than an MS3 so it's almost as quick (a little over 1 second to 60mph), except it corners much better and gets an extra 5mpg.
    3,281 lbs vs 2,843 lbs
Racing Beat swaybars and exhaust, Racing Hart wheels, sparco pedals, Kenwood system with sub.. all OEM from the factory.

How far we've come indeed.

I installed stoptech ss brake lines and to my delight one of the oem nuts had flared out inside the fitting. The monkeys in the factory over tightened the nut causing it to mushroom out on the back of the fucking flare. So the new line wouldnt fit. Its ok thou i needed a bath of brakefluid. Nothing like slippery hands to thread a nut. Cant wait to learn how to cut the line and have it reflared by my self. Oh and i ran out of brake fluid due to said bath so thats awesome i get to bleed the brakes for days.

On a plus note i tryed to fix the source of a p0171 and some how made the leak worse. Sweet.

Did centric rear rotors and pads with no issues other then that shit brake cube not fitting. Fuck it needle nose pliers FTW.

I had to cut a couple of lines when I went with the stainless StopTech. Brakes bleed pretty quick though. I went with the Centric Cryo rotors and Hawk HPS pads.
