    Got some pics today:

    Pretty blocks after machining

Crank (My flywheel looks so much prettier than all of those stockers)

    Things are getting close...

I also got my new amp and Eonon head unit in the other day as well. The cyber Monday deals were just too good to pass up! It'll be nice to have a functioning radio again. The stock Bose amp is trash. I still need to clean up my engine bay and all of the parts to make sure it's all nice and pretty when I get it all back together. House projects have been interfering with the car work unfortunately. After the holidays blow over, I should be ready to go full steam on the Mazda.

Things are coming along. I've still got to do some cleaning in the engine bay and get my radio stuff installed, so there's plenty to do while I wait.

Sent out my wiring harness to be tucked and tweaked for PI. Looks very pretty, so I'm excited to clean some of that crap out. VCTS delete is happening since I'm going with the CS Intake Manifold. Going to do have to solder on the relay after the fact to keep VCTS happy after I get it all back. EGR is gone as well since I won the gift card from Damond a while back.

The rest of the harness is still with me and I'll be tearing it all apart and cleaning it up a bit. The nastiest part of the car is probably all of the dirty crusty wire looms all throughout the engine bay. Some new split loom and fancy german tape is on the way to redo some of these ugly ass wires.

On another side of things, Crower shut down for like 2 weeks for the holidays, so they should finally be doing some work on them. Hopefully they finish those up and get them back quickly. After those are done, the motor should be pretty much good to go once they're dropped in. I'm hoping to get this all back and start getting this put together!

It's been a while since my last update.

The build has been on a bit of a halt since Crower shut down over the holidays. The cams are finally finished and are at Speed Solutions now.

While he's assembling the motor I'm working on prettying up the engine bay. I've been cleaning it up (as much as I can) and also cleaning up the wiring harness. I initially planned to remove the split loom and completely re-wrap it in the Tesa tape, but I've decided that I would like the extra protection of the split loom still. I'm removing all of the old electrical tape that's all crunchy and replacing it with Tesa tape wherever possible. The other chunk of my harness is over with Eric being tucked and having the EGR cables removed. All in all, the engine bay will be a lot cleaner once everything is re-assembled.

Here's some looks at what I've done so far:

Other than that, I've been repainting the interior trim (the silver stuff that get's scratched so easily). It's all obliterated after all these years and it's time for a refresh, I'm going to paint it all with a gunmetal color that is close to my wheels Hyundai S2G.

I'm also looking to run some wiring for my new amp as well.

    Lots to do!

I'd have to find it again. It was some Swedish seller iirc. Took forever to get here.

It's been a while since I've had an update. I've been working on the harness still. Pulled the passenger seat and have been wiring up the amp and head unit. I also decided to get an ethanol sensor for my build since here in AZ the ethanol content is different at every station (some have ~E50 and others have E85). I was looking at the thread on how to wire up your own with a Raspi, but I decided to go a different route since I didn't really like the LCD mounting options.

Hooks up to the Chevy ethanol sensor that most people are using, but also has a bluetooth output, so I can monitor it on my phone and hopefully the Eonon head unit that I'm wiring up. If their reader app works properly in landscape mode I think it would be a super clean setup and since the E content doesn't really need to be monitored like a hawk, I'm not really worried about any slowness with bluetooth or anything. I'll be soldering up the pigtail and wiring it up to the 15a fuse that would be for the moonroof in the fusebox.

Unfortunately not much of an update for the motor, still waiting. Hopefully something big comes up soon!

    Another little update.

Got some trim pieces repainted since the silver stuff was all beat to hell. Got it all done in gunmetal and it's looking real nice. I'm hoping to have all of the interior back together this weekend now that I finally have all of this done! The new headunit and amp will be all installed as well, but I need to come up with a little mounting bracket for the amp. I'm planning on re-using the existing bolts that the Bose amp bracket mounted to.

One other little nice thing. My @Matt@DM side mounts just shipped today, so once those are here I've got pretty much all that I need (except for the motor) to start putting some stuff back together!

I did a thing this weekend.

Decided that now that I had the trim it was a good time to get the interior put back together. Got my buddy over who has done car audio stuff before and we came up with this:

Ended up real clean and I really like it.

Got the head unit all hooked up after that as well:

Decided to do the cabin air filters as well since I already had the glove box destroyed:

Adjusted OP with other junk I've tacked onto the build list... mainly an EFR 7163. After joking with the lady about the turbo being the bottle neck and just getting a new one, she ended up saying to just get it (she's a pretty bad influence). If anybody wants an EFR 6758, I'll probably be posting it in the for sale section soon lol.

    A little rice update:

Finally got all of the interior back together. Passenger seat is all mounted and the amp fits great. Glove box is back together and all of the trim is back in place. The trim that my buddy in Tucson painted for me looks great. The color he ended up using nearly matches my car color perfectly, so that was kinda cool. Pictures don't do this justice. After looking at all of these pictures I realize that my interior needs a good dusting and also the black dash stuff really needs a cleaning. Not sure what I want to use on the dash yet since I really don't want a nasty oily armorall finish on it. If any of you guys have something you'd recommend hit me up!

Been a while since my last update.

@Speed Solutions LLC is going to be doing some of the finishing touches on my motor this coming week and hopefully that'll be wrapped up soon.

In the mean time I've picked up some of the goodies for my build and have started prepping stuff up.

Koni Yellows + Eibach Springs all around

EFR 7163 next to the old 6758. Not a huge size difference, but I'm expecting real good things.

One other thing I ended up having to get that is completely not a go-fast part is the air receiver dryer because my dumbass didn't seal off the system when I pulled everything. The bolt that was holding the dryer in place was so tight that it ended up snapping when I was undoing it... The pipes leading to it were flexing real bad, so I ended up having to manhandle the old dryer with a pair of pliers to keep it from twisting the aluminum tubes going into it. Going to have to get a new bolt when the new one comes in.

It's been a while since my last update.

This one is a bit of a mixed bag unfortunately. The motor is finally assembled, but the custom cams that @Enki helped me come up with with Crower ended up being a a real nightmare. Crower stamped a big part number into the metal on the friction washer surface... After trying to get a hold of somebody at Crower for a few days I finally got a hold of the guy and he had no idea what they were and why that was an issue. These guys shipped this to the wrong address initially and wouldn't pay for the shipping issues. It's been nothing but trouble working with them. Needless to say, I've changed things up since I'm not gonna send these back to be "repaired" by guys that don't understand the application. I'm moving over to CS cams which will still be fine for me.

The other bummer is Corksport is still backordered on intake manifolds, so it looks like I'll need to come up with another plan for the short term. After talking with Brett at CS, he really couldn't give much of a timeframe, so I might just need to run a stock IM for a while. I have an offer out to someone who is parting out with a CS mani, so I'm hoping that works out, but we'll see.

On the good side of things, the motor is all timed and assembled. @Speed Solutions LLC has some stuff out for powdercoating for me now. I'm going with Illusion Red for the valve cover, timing cover, and other junk. Once that's all done, it's just shift forks and it is done.
