Got a few more hours put in on the wiring. Slowly making progress. Probably about 70 feet of wire pulled out so far. I'm honestly really excited about how much cleaner the interior of the car is going to be. It drives my OCD insane seeing loose connectors are aren't plugged in. So in other words, this definitely isn't worth the time and effort, but to me it is.

    Still chipping away at projects.

Got the battery tray widened to fit my small battery. It's an STM tray, made for a PC680 battery, I use a Enersys 16EP battery which is shorter and a tad wider. Threw the tray in the bridgeport at work and went to town (forgot to take photos, was too focused on getting it done in time), ended up widening the tray about 0.20" and now the battery fits perfect.

Just about done with the valve cover. Still need to buy a larger drill bit for the side vent hole, it's at 1/2" now since that's the largest bit I had, I need a 23/32", also need to buy 1/2 NPT tap. Once that's done I'll clean it again and powdercoat it.

Baffles removed, they were still dirty after 30 mins in the jet wash before I pulled them.

    Sand blasted

Shaved and washed again (the dark spots are from the wash chemical reacting with the mag)

Remaining rivet material ground flat. Seems that the rivets are made of mag as well

    Holes drilled

Holes tapped for M5 bolts. Ordered the bolts, forgot to order lock washers, doh. Plan is to use lock washers and blue loctite

Next week I'll finish porting the intake mani, get the EGT and O2 bungs welded on the O2 housing, and hopefully get the new oil pan mocked up and possibly welded.

About 5 pounds of wire out so far by rough estimation. Easily over 150 feet of wire. It's pretty much a never ending cycle of finding wires that aren't being used anymore, pulling them out back to their source and cutting. A bit over 10 hours in so far, time to pick up a depinning tool kit as lots of connectors are starting to turn into wire porcupines. I'd guess that I'm around 1/3 of the way done.

I also wasn't liking how my shifter cables were just zip tied together so I pulled the insulation sleeve off them and threw some Vibrant hose separators on them. I'm happy with it, here's a before and after:

Managed to get the last set of these sexy tophats and after seeing them all I can say is wow. These plates add caster I'm really into mods that improve driver connection/feel so I'm excited to get these guys on the car and see how the car feels with more caster.

Reloomed the battery harness earlier today. Should be getting to more of the wiring in the engine bay tomorrow and thursday since it's supposed to be a scorching 55F outside.

    Woven tape FTW

Thanks guys! I can't say I enjoy electrical work but after all the experience I've got doing it I've gotten pretty decent at it and yea I can't stand seeing loose connectors just flopping around.

What does FTFY mean, “Fuck this fuck you?” Why do you choose such offensive language!?!?

Haha, that would be entertaining but no. I also disagree with the urban dictionary definition of sarcastic disagreement because more often on 'speed forums it is used as tongue-in-cheek modification or perhaps even sarcastic agreement. Your original misspelling "wrapings" seemed apropos since not only am I down with the level of OCD going into the wire-strip on his Evo but with no interior and built motor and etc etc there's gotta be a lot of rapings of Hondas, Mustangs and probably Ferraris. Besides, giant wang. Wing. Whatever.

I am going to get my ass handed to me for my first couple track days. I'm already anticipating the rape. Between the middle of April to the beginning of June I'm trying to squeeze in 4 events so we'll see. I'm hoping come middle of June I have a pretty decent handle on the car and can focus more on my line and finding time.

Drag racing should be fun this year as I'll actually be able to put my radials to use.

Finally got started in the bay yesterday. Got the engine harness mostly unwrapped. Wires for the EVAP, EGR and FPR solenoids are all getting yanked. Once that's all back together I might venture towards the fusebox and go through all the wires in the harness that goes across the front of the car.

I also got my wheels back! Unfortunately I can't get the color to turn out right with my phone. It's got a tad of a green hue that doesn't show in the photo. I'm absolutely happy with how they turned out.

This past weekend I decided that while my dash was out it'd be a good time to flock it. I let it finish curing today. The process is pretty straightforward and it definitely didn't turn out perfect but for $40 I'm pretty happy with it and knowing that I won't have reflection issues while driving, plus it's fuzzy!
