Becasue the tune was never really "done" on the other set up, Its hard to say. I would say that the response on this set up for sure is awesome, and that the Tial absolutely did give me more top end.

Hi mate great thread, was going to ask you more about your pi kit, when you say its a budget kit, what other options would you have gone for if money was not a issue. im the guy form FB over in the uk just forged mine with a 5858 turbo and wanted to run full pi kit.

Congrats on getting your fueling sorted out! I might have missed it in the earlier posts, but what did you do to maintain good fuel pressure with the PI setup?

I fixed it by not using a shitty DW pump. I'm on a walbro 450 now, but I'm sure a good drop in pump would do the same. That and now I'm using a regulator, and running a return. I'm not sure it's needed but I ended up doing it anyway

Awesome, that seems to be the most promising setup for your higher hp goals. For me I just want 5th/6th port to lower my IDC's. I'm stock block so no more than 380 whp for now. Hopefully the DW65c won't crap out at that power level. I'm on the fence about whether I should go with the kozmic kit, or sp63 kit though.

Quick update while Im thinking about it. Have a whole list of things to do, and apparently working full time, having a kid, being sick for a week, and trying to run a side business take up a lot of time. But Im hoping to find a few hours to knock projects out. On the docket I have:

    1. Finish installing new water pump (Mine seized up and destroyed the serp belt)
    2. Install front bumper tabs. (I have the rear, but the front is popping too)
    3. Install new head lights (mine are terrible and I ordered some DDMs like 4 months ago)
    4. Try and make my under tray fit (engine bay looks awful due to not having it in winter)
    5. Install new brake rotors (God I hope this fixes the vibration issues)
    6. New winsheild wiper motor
    7. Fix hole in trunk (From where I ran my meth lines out, my duct tape patch has since failed)
    8. New spark plugs
    9. Install my oil baffle to my valve cover able to use a vented cap
    10. Install new gauges
    11. Install CS Throttle body? (I might wait till spring so I can do A to B comparison logs)

So yeah, I need to find some decent time. Which will probably not happen, but hopefully I can knock them out one at a time.

Did not get my whole list done, but knocked out a few things. New wiper motor is in (that took way longer than it should have), Made my oem front undertray thing fit with a bit of shimming and zip ties. Hopefully this will help direct air into the FMIC and radiator better. Half way done saftey wiring my rotors and hopefully those will go on tonight.

Really want to do headlights before I bring it down to the ground, and debating on doing the rest of the under tray. Gauges need to happen, but I need a few hours to deal with that mess.

Car is almost back together. Hopefully will be good. Swaybar brackets, headlights, throttle body and then I think Im about done.

That said, I cant not tinker, but I just want to be done with this car. So what do I do? I buy another one. (good idea Ken, more projects...) But at $1200 delivered for a speed with a blown motor, I had to take a chance. Im gonna try and get her cleaned up and running to give to my dad who desperately needs a new car and wants something fun. Gonna take most of the summer with my limited time, but I hope to really get going on it hard.

Nah, I have a spare stock motor that was running in my car when I pulled it. 100k on it but good compression. Im gonna clean that up and drop it in. New VVT, seals all around, might do the clutch (I have 3 OEM but need to see what kind of condition they are all in)

Replace the shitty coils on this car, remove a bunch of stickers and rust and make it a solid DD. Intake, DP, catback, and tune should be more than enough for my dad.

Hopeing to spend some time on the car this weekend, but really I need to work on the new car some. I was going to hit up a track day with @HawkeyeGeoff on the 18th of may, but I got invited to a wakeboard trip by the owner of my company in South Carolina. So I need to decide what to do there.

Would really like to swap some gauges this weekend and then work maybe on my brake ducts some more as I need to fix up the fog light mounts. Hopefully summer tires too.

Tried to solve a clunk in the rear. I found a broken exhaust hanger, that has been fixed with a zip tie. New stainless RSB brackets went in. My old ones I have from when I made my swaybar like 5 years ago. Looks like they were due to be swapped...

I'll be at Gingerman 5/12 and 5/26 if you're interested Ken. I was just talking to Geoff yesterday about possibly going to Grattan sometime this summer as well.

Cool, I'll take a peek at their schedule later today and we can try and find a day that works for the 3 of us.

Well, it looks like I should change the title of this thread. I found the end.

As many of you know, I was at the track a week ago when my car caught fire. Did everything I could to save it, but it was no hope. I got out ok, and just have a few burns on my arms, but it could have been way way worse. (a spectator did get a sweet pic of me getting out of the car)

Sucks seeing so much hard work literally go up in smoke. The time and money I have put into this car made me feel like it was a part of me, so letting her go has been rough. I just keep telling myself at least I didnt die, and that has helped me rationalize the loss.

This weekend Im going to go thought the unfun task of seeing whats left that is saveable. Im doubting its much, but I want to try. I at least got my shift knob out of it. I will keep that as a keep sake for a long time.

Below are a few pics of the damage, and the fire. I want to thank everyone who has helped me though the years. I will still be around here to try and make sure Im helping where I can. This community has been great for the most part, and I want to stay apart of it.

As for what is next, Im not sure. For now Im just going to drive my jeep and see what I can find when I save up the money to buy something new. Might be a bit, maybe I wont be able to wait, we will see.

Glad you're okay physically man. Like I said, if you want a hand tearing into it I'm pretty free most days so just let me know.

Curious to see what the next fun car will be!
