Yeah you’re right I just don’t have alot of money so I figured if I pulled it I would have to pay another $20 for that gasket as well and thought it may also save me some time. I guess it is a good time to port it though and what not right!?

Thanks for the hookup man! Lets hope for a good leak down test but if it is good then when im done with everything and my car is back together ill do some more datalogs and see what the virtual dyno has to say again.

 

Alright so I did the leak down test and after a few mistakes I feel fairly confident that the results were pretty good! The only thing I wasn’t for sure on was how high to set the regulator on the air compressor but I figured it didn’t need to be too high considering the leak down tester regulates it anyways when u set it to zero right?

 

I've only used a homemade tester so idk about the one you have, but I run it at like 20-25psi.

 

Oh ok well my tester was reading about 30psi and then it also shows leak down percentage but my compressor was set at about 50. Sorry the pics kind of suck but it was like 11pm...haha

My results were better than I expected so it made me second guess that I was doing it correctly.

 

Alright guys so its been a long few days getting everything ready for the job and I ran into a road block with a stripped bolt. After a a couple battles with it I finally won so off went the intake mani tonight... It definitely needed attention because it is straight up filthy.... I’ll post more tomorrow. Another huge thanks again to @jsmith for the turbo!

Yeah for sure! I think it’s my issue with burning oil, bad gas mileage, smoking at wot, etc.... I’ll keep everyone posted. Is the vtcs a bad idea to delete on the inside? Just cutting the rod and leave it alone on the outside?

 

Changing anything you dont have to until you sort out your initial issue would not be recommended.

edit: So PCV replacement yes, VTCS delete maybe not.

[doublepost=1530467390][/doublepost]Alright guys so I have set the far right cylinder to TDC. That also sets the far left cylinder at TDC also right? Then I can soak all 4 of those runners at once right and block off the other runners for center cylinders right!?
[doublepost=1530492955][/doublepost]I have now cleaned the valves for cylinders 1 and four and am soaking 2 and 3. I installed my AP EGR Delete and have now removed the PCV. How normal is it for them to look like this one? My valves seem to be fairly clean but im sure they will clean up alot better next time as well...

 

Ok so I have finished my valve cleaning, install of the AP intake mani and throttle body gaskets, and my egr delete. I had it unplugged anyways so it shouldn't change much of anything except freeing up much needed space in the engine bay. So I decided to do a pull today with Jason's tune I have been running and then try the Cobb Stage 3 OTS Map... Here was my shocking Virtual Dyno results.... Jason's is the lower results (which both are WAY down I understand that).

I know idk what is going on with it but why would an ots map jump up 70wtq from Jason’s? That doesn’t make sense to me...

 

"revision 2"....did you do one of his flash maps or a full custom? i don't remember from the start of the thread. with my custom tune, he started pretty conservatively and only made very gradual changes for the first few revisions so it took a little while to start making power.

 

Yes it was just a flash tune. That could definitely be some of it. There doesnt seem to be near as much low end. He was probably being safe to start with.

 

Are the brakes sticking on?

You have boost fuel and timing. It shouldnt be this low.

Calculated load shows it's flowing air.

 

I have been meaning to replace my brake pads soon anyways so maybe I will go ahead and do that to double check but I would probably have noticed and they would have worn out very prematurely (which they haven’t), so I don’t know honestly. I may go ahead this weekend and install my “new-er” ko4 to make sure it hasn’t atleast been my problem with burning oil atleast. Jsmith pointed out that my v-dyno graphs don’t even show a spool up for some reason even after I have tried starting the log while decelerating. I really don’t understand why it is doing that either..

 

Your datalog shows the spool up, just not in V-Dyno. Anyone else want to take a crack at putting it in? I has no windows.

I dont think you have enough information yet to say its the turbo itself.

How many miles have you put on since swapping out the PCV valve? Do you even have an oil consumption problem anymore?

 

Any chance all you're wheel bearings are jacked up and creating a lot of drag?
