So as most know I am about to have my speed 6 motor built. I will be dropping it off tomorrow afternoon and am wanting everyone to post their knowledge about port and polish work.

Im wanting to know what is most worth my $$$ to have the PnP work done. Whether it be bowl work, exhaust side, intake side, Exhaust mani, intake mani, ko4 housing, etc. Please post up so anyone with the same questions will have a great thread as a go to for this info!

Not too sure about what the cost is, but I would suggest the Damond FoST intake manifold for better flow unless your power goals are big numbers then I believe everyone would say JMF intake manifold.

Not sure about exhaust side, most people run Full Race or CPE.

I hear people having issues with cpe mani’s. Boost creep and fitment stuff etc. I know they are obviously still great tho but won’t be buying any $500-1000 manifolds. I will most likely keep stock manifold until going BT.

I will be porting my stock intake mani and doing the vtcs delete. Any pics are welcome of people’s own PnP jobs on such parts along with motor like @JohnnyTightlips is doing I think.

It cost me like 60$ all in to do the head work on mine. It was about 6 hours of work total. This video was a big inspiration to me, I recommend watching all of his vids as he is very knowledgeable. You need a decent compressor to keep up or more time. The AL specific bits are amazing and eat through AL like butter. I am excited to see the gains I get from my work and it was cool to do it myself. I did not do any bowl work per say. I did remove the lips on the intake side bowls to allow more flow. It was really not that hard but you need to take your time and pay attention. You can easily start to eat too far into areas. I recommend cutting it down with the AL bit within an 1/16th of an inch to your sharpie marks then use sanding pads to go the rest of the way. As you use the tools you will start to feel more comfortable. Put the air hose over your shoulder to help with the weight your hands will get very worn out. You could literally spend 30+ hours doing this and polishing it etc but for me I just wanted to get that 80% and not spend the time for the next 20. Any more questions let me know. I am not an expert I just took as much info as I could and tried to apply it to my head and wanted to do it. https://www.mazdaspeeds.org/index.p...-build-maximum-carnage.7025/page-4#post-64378

Ok I appreciate it man. The local shop said they would do it for a great price so I will most likely just go ahead and let them. My goal is 500 but if I end up doing it right im sure the right turbo and fueling could make me go well above that.
