The release of LibreTuner is coming up close, but I need more calbrations. Currently, I have only added support for one speed6 calibration.
    Edit
I'm looking for both speed6 and speed3 ROMs. If you would like to help and you have a J2534 PassThru cable, you can use the current alpha release of LibreTuner to download ROMs and save them to a file.

It can be downloaded by following the download link on the website and selecting the LibreTuner-v0.1..zip download. Unzip the archive and run LibreTuner.exe. If your PassThru cable was detected, it should show up under datalinks. If not, please let me know. OBDLink/ELM327 users will need to manually add the interface. There is only one option for the platform: Mazdaspeed6. This option will work for speed6s AND first gen speed3s.

To download the ROM, you first need to create a project from File > New Project. Name it anything.

Go to File > Download ROM, type a name, and make sure the PassThru cable is connected to the computer and OBD-II port. Turn the key to the ON position and continue. It will start downloading or throw an error (in which case I would appreciate feedback :)). When it's completed, a new window will show up saying the calibration is unsupported. Press "Yes", save the ROM somewhere, and send it to me. If you don't get that windows and it says "successfully downloaded" instead, you have the one calibration supported, so no need to send it to me.

The download instructions can also be found in the manual (OUTDATED).

    Thanks!

Yes, that cable will work but I have not tested it myself.

Would you need a pull of a stock rom?

The download will fail if the authentication key has been modified from stock, which both AP and VersaTune do. If it becomes an issue that no one has a stock ROM, I can add VersaTune's authentication key, but I'm not sure about AP.

Hmmm that will make it trickier, most people who are willing to help with this are likely tuned. I could flash back to stock but my car is down at the moment with no harness or anything.

I published v0.0.2 which includes a new definition for VersaTune. You will need to select "Mazdaspeed6 - VersaTune" on setup.

Following. Open source tuning makes funny things happen in my pantaloons.

I have a buddy with a speed 6 and speed 3 first gen. I will see if we can pull from both those cars.

Thta'd be great! If you have the cable, before you try downloading you might want to go plug it in to your computer and open LibreTuner. I was having an issue with the cable not being detected, so let me know if the Datalinks combo box is empty on the setup screen.

[edit] It should be fixed in v0.0.4

Everything helps! If you have a PassThru cable, unzip this archive https://github.com/LibreTuner/LibreTuner/releases/download/v0.0.5/LibreTuner-Release.zip and run LibreTuner.exe. Plug the cable in, switch ignition to ON, and run File > Download Rom. We've ran into problems with certain cables so if it crashes let me know please :).

Unfortunately OBDLink and ELM-based cables aren't supported at the moment. It's up on the list of priorities as soon as I get one.

I've been sitting on this for a few weeks but finally got around to ironing out the major bugs today. OBDLink SX support has been added and should work for any ELM327-compatible device. The new version can be downloaded here: https://github.com/LibreTuner/LibreTuner/releases/download/v0.0.6/LibreTuner-Release.zip. The UX needs some work but hopefully it isn't too convoluted; here's some instructions in case:
    1. Download, unzip the archive, and run LibreTuner.exe. Make sure the OBDLink is plugged in before continuing.
    2. In the menu, click "Tools > Setup Datalinks". This will open the data links manager.
    3. click "Add" on the right side to start adding the OBDLink SX.
    4. In the top combo box, select "ELM327/ST" and name it whatever you want (I chose "elm").
    5. For the port, you will need to figure out which COM device is the OBDLlink. If there's only one option, choose it. But if there's two, it will likely be the highest one. If not, trial and error.
    6. Next to baudrate, make sure "Use system baudrate" is checked.
    7. Click "Add" and close the datalinks manager.
    8. In the bottom right corner, make sure the new datalink is selected.
    9. Plug the OBDLink into the OBD II port and turn the key to "ON."
    10. Just to ensure it's working, go to the "Diagnostics" view and click "Scan for diagnostics codes". If no error messages pop up, it's good to go. Otherwise, try again and if it does not work the second time please let me know.
    11. In the top menu, selected "File > Download ROM".
    12. Write anything for "Name" and "Id".
    13. Click "Download."
    14. If any errors show up, please let me know.
    15. When finished, it will say something like "Failed to download rom...". Save it somewhere and send it to me in a PM.
Hopefully it all works out... if not, the baudrate may need to be changed.

The UI is in a better state now and there's 300+ tables and axes that need to be identified. If any tuners want to help identify them, lmk.

I'm 90% certain the latest build finally fixed it. I was never able to reproduce it, but I did test the latest build on a fresh Windows install and it works.
