XXR 530s. I've had them for about 5 years now? Yes they came that color.

I have posted photos in previous posts. I still haven't even picked it back up yet.

I know, every time I break out the shop vac I go "oh I can do that now too while I wait for the turbo" and then it's night time lol

Soooo crazy big update. Been slacking on updating the post.

So to start things off. I went with s completly out of the ordinary turbo decision. Even though I've had issues with them in the past I couldn't turn down the deal. I couldn't wait any longer for BNR to build the turbo so I picked up a PTE 6266 for a crazy steal of a deal! Gen 2 PTE 6266. .82 ar. 4" ported compressor housing. T3 flange with 3" vband outlet.

Exhaust manifold and Downpipe were already built around a 5858 so it was a perfect drop in fit. No crazy adapters needed like I had with the BNR.

    Completed to do list:
-Drilled out and re-tapped EM for M10x1.5
    -Installed turbo and EM
-Finished all of the custom 3" under route charge pipe plumbing
    -SSC wiring finished
-Made and installed AN SS braided return line from the PRV
-Installed and wired in the WOT box
    - Bought a vacuum QC fitting and line kit in Amazon for 30$. Will be redoing all the boost source and vacuum source lines.
    - Got the new tune map uploaded and just got a 6' serial cable to program the SSC and WOT box from in the car
    - Plugged the relief port on the GFB BPV since I will now be running full VTA.
    - Catch can remounted and plumbed
    - New Racequip helmet is in
    - Started it up. Ran great!

Need to take it out for a quick data log and then we wait for 4/20 going up to Justin's to make some jam. Until then I'll do a couple other things like remove the fog lights. The passenger fog is keeping the bumper from seating due to it hitting the IC piping. NBD

    To do list still:
    - Shave the calipers
    - Mount new slicks
    - Fix the airbag kit in the rear
    - Install push connect vacuum fittings

That's about it for now. Under route looks nice, but I suggest clamping it to the bottom of the timing cover. I had a lot of vibration there (and mine was only 1 pc so I assume yours will be worse) and it rubbed pretty bad after a while. I put a tbolt clamp and a little bracket and it solved the issue. Just something to consider while you are working on it now.

I actually do have a hanger there lol. I didnt with my previous under route. Didn't have any issues. But I did get a 3" pipe hanger and attached it to the Timing cover. I'll have to take photos of it later.

Any chance you can diagram what you mean by cutting out the retention cap piece? I'm having a hard time visualizing it from the pictures. Just ordered this AEM pump to use in my PI system, so I'm debating if I want to do whatever this chop and splice would entail or if I'm going to just go ahead with overpaying for a new OEM filter.

Honestly just get an OEM filter. It's like 20$ shipped on eBay.

You'd have to grind out the area the stock filter slides into to get the AEM one to fit in.

Soooooo. Anyways. Updates. Lots of them lmao

Car is doing Well. Very well! Lol

Made a trip up to Justin car topped out at 633/519. (I also upgraded to IDX 1050x injectors) Was leaning out and running out of fuel. We were maxing that AEM pump OUT! So he turned it down and ended up with 628/513 as a final tune. This 6266 RIPS! We were having some issues with the coupler at the turbo but we finally got it figured out.

Got everything setup for the track.
    Slicks mounted
    Calipers shaved
    Wheel adapters mounted
@Raider fab bumper quik latch kit installed

Made a trip to the track last Wednesday for track rental. Met up with the freek team to shake the car down and get some seat time. My first time running the car on slicks and WOT shifting.
Run 1 forgot to release the E-brake
Run 2 stayed on the limiter too long, wheel hopped. Snapped the driver side axel
    Run 3 12.8 @ 131 mph
    Run 4 11.8 @ 128 mph
    Run 5 missed shifts 12.4 @ 126 mph

Still working on launching the car. I was gaining the hang of it but still feeling for when wheel hop is or isn't happening to save the axels so I was letting the pedal out in first. The guys taught me A LOT and I made my PB off the trailer never having ran the car but once before this day. My trap is there and I'm making up the 8th but that launch and 60' was killing me. When the car was grabbing second on the track though, it was diabolical! Also have to work on the rear the bags were leaking bad and we're leaving me rubbing in the rear on the runs. At of the day. It drive back onto the trailer! Successful day for sure!

Heading back out in a few weeks to keep getting better and get on that Top 10 1/4 mile list!

    Soooo upate

Went out a couple weeks after my last post. Didn't even make it out of the water box. Slipped time.

I also had what I suspected after the last pass I may have had been pushing combustion into the coolant. Compression and leak down numbers were good however cyl 2 was still pushing air into the coolant system somewhere.

While the head was off I upgraded the valve springs to 65lb Kelford springs. They are behind style springs and retain the stock soring retainers.

Replaced the HG. Deleted a bunch of unnecessary coolant lines and installed a gen 2 Spin on conversion.

I also added in a hellcat 525 pump to turn it up more of we want to. We we're maxing out the AEM pump

Last week we shot up to New England Drag way. Met up with Justin. Turnedt car down a little bit to make some shakedown hits and try to get the short track game down.
    1st run 11.5 @ 137mph
2nd run 1.6 60' awesome launch missed going into 3rd. Bailed and rode it out.
    3rd run 10.83 @ 136

Justin also Beat his own World record and ran 9.90 @ 148mph

Plenty of improvements can make that a mid 10 second pass without turning anything up! Got my wedding coming up this weekend and then we'll be back out there in a week.

Chances are I won't be invited back after out next outing until I have a certed cage in the car.

Good work on that 10.8! Took a lot of work in the shed I'm sure but you really banged it out in the driver's seat. Did you have a good bit of drag experience before you went all out built motor full fuck build?

Also, you run the same oil filter as my Fiesta  kinda neat that fits.

Nope, no experience in drag racing. YEARS ago I had a couple passes in a built FoxBody I had but that's it. Before I started this drag racing quest I was a big twisty and road course person. I ran the car once with the stock motor at Epic in 2013 but it was only one run and was poop.

The 10.8 run is only the second time out running the car. (Third time but the second time was a wash) I'd say it was about my 5th or 6th pass so far.

Yea there's a few different options for larger capacity fomoco oil filters.

Yea the ghetto vice grip roller wasn't cutting it for the big boost. This thing was 130$ in Amazon. Worked great.

Also some videos of the pass

Any clue yet as to what caused the engine to blow?

No idea. Chalking it up to just straight up engine block failure and stress. The steel sleeves just separated from the casting on the deck of the block. I'm assuming distortion and the 88mm bore taking the walls down may have did it in after some serious heat cycles.

Will you be going with a fresh oem 87.5 bore block next build or a sleeved block? I've heard the 88mm bore compromises the structural integrity a bit at high hp but wasn't sure by how much.

I have 3 blocks torn down at the moment. Building one for a customer, Sleeving one for the next build in my car (going to be a while new build) then doing a science experiment with the other using the internals that came out of the motor that just failed.

88mm is the limit to take it. Majority of the time it's not an issue. Between 15k miles and the thrashing it took this season I'm actually surprised it took that long to fail.

    Lilupdate. I own a business now ‍♂️

    www.dirtywaterracing.com
Been slowly transitioning shedbuilt name and parts over to this. My cousin and I started a E-commerce, fabrication and parts business.

Been working a ton, building a couples Mils and slowly getting stuff done for my car.
May be a busy year for me as I just interviewed for the local FD and could possibly be in the academy this summer. So track time may not even happen. Just means I can take my time.

    Aaaaanyways.

We found out my mil from this last season failed at the steel sleeves and the decking of the block. Plan is to still sleeve that block. Will be running Darton dry sleeved stock bore. Will be sending it to Darton East to have it all done.

We took a saw and split another block we had sitting around in half. Down the middle of 3. The most fucked of the cylinders on my motor. Come to find out how fucking seriously thin these stock sleeves get when you start boring the motor to 88mm. The steel sleeves not only crumbled taking it out but measured with a caliper at <.020 which is kinda scary to think about. I'm a firm believer now that 550-600hp and under is a decently safe number to keep things together on a .020 Over bore. But as we know, if you are going for the moon toon. Get sleeves or find a good stock bore block.

But list going down so far this winter has been.
    - Fabricating a tube front with front mount fuel cell and ballast plate
    - Make and fabricate fuel cell
    - Fabricating chute mount and main chute bar
    - Got a trash PTE top mount exhaust manifold. Fucking peice of shit is far garbage. Nothing fits right.
    - Fabricating out own exhaust. Turbo hood dump and wastegate dump.
    - Designed and fabricated a front traction bar kit.
    - Sikky Pull back handbrake with dual caliper line kit for staging
    - Billet EGR delete plate and Billet T-Stat housing
    - will be re-doing all of the charge piping for the intercooler. Intercooler will mount to tube front or ballast plate if I get around to it.
    - Got some custom valves Feal suspension. We'll be going crazy getting them corner weights nice and even this year.
    - Sticking with the DM PI kit and 1050x injectors. Switching to a 6466
    - full 360° head job from Overspeed. Will be running all supertech valves, guides and seals. Kelford D cams and keeping the Kelford 85lb springs with the build.
    - Brakes are staying stock, we've been messing around with making our own rear trailing arms. May pick up a from big brake kit. Still undecided.
-Will be getting a gen 2 trans from @Atvfreek and if I hit the lottery this summer grab the dog box
    - picked up Massive Speed keyed timing gearset and Mustang EB keyed Crankshaft. Just need to get a balancer done.

Plan is to and praying that I can pickup a Motec Ecu from @Atvfreek this summer. Have all the sensors and senders I need. Already sold off the SSC and WotBox. Was going to grab the AEM and run that but fuck all that nonsense, plug the Motec in and go. Plan is to stay around the same power we were at this past season. That car had a low/low 10 second pass in it. EASY. Just didn't have the axles for the short track to get it done.

I'm sure I'm missing shit. I'll update things as they go. Currently building the chute mount
