Not bad for a 6 year old tune with essentially an intake, intercooler, test pipe and pump gas at 18psi peak.

Need to get another AP so I can get this thing on e30. 3-4-20 white car.jpg

Even at that power level, how does the AWD feel vs the ms3?

The grip on acceleration, especially lower gears...is bonkers. Being able to floor it in 2nd or 3rd coming out of corners on the twisty roads around here is great.

The weight difference, though...is totally noticeable. I don't remember my ms3 when on stock turbo feeling this subdued on the hit, on 93. Granted its been since 2014 since ive driven a tuned k04 mazdaspeed. It doesnt feel as nimble, but the suspension is actually setup quite well for being all OTS parts(bc coils, whiteline rsb, and some sort of front strut tower bar). I dont feel scared to push the car at all. I'll need to go hit our local cloverleaf onramps soon once the temp gets over 50 and see how she sticks at speed

Also gonna have to hit these roads once they open back up. The super twisty one(bout 40 sec in) gets closed during winter so salt and plows dont fuck it up

Me chasing my buddies old track inspired ms6

Love the choice of Tool for the background music. I wish I could give you more thumbs up for that post.

You really went soft on some of those turns. Although I cant say I would drive it any harder with the possibility of Bambi wanting to jump out in front of you.

Bambi is definitely a concern here lol. That and a 5862 powered ms3 wasnt the best for those kind of roads

    Edit: TOOL FTW

Got confirmation from justin this morning. The final map for this car that it is currently running was done in November of 2014. I dont think any of my other speeds have gone more than a few months without part changes and retuning lol. It'll be nice keeping this thing so simple for now

Replace whatever couplers need replacing, and throw on a full race manifold and call it a day.

You'll have enough pep to keep it fun while you iron out any other long term maintenance or issues.

Yep! Thats the plan! Previous owner left me a rebuild kit for the bpv in the trunk. Already took advantage of that and swapped in a new piston and oring and lubed that sucker up good.

Next will be putting some rust inhibitor on the subframes to keep em from getting bad.

And then going over all the vac lines and replacing any if necessary.

Other than that, I'll need to replace these nitto nt555 at some point. But i may want to find new wheels first before committing to a new set of tires for the xxr's

Beautiful day out today. Drank some beer, washed the car, added some +5hp stickers

Washed the car. Checked the oil. Pretty much right between max and min after 4k miles on the tribodyn 10w30.

Otherwise....bored as hell. Hope everyone is well!

Would you be willing to make a how-to of how to detail the outside of a car? Clay bar, pre-cleaning before wax, etc. I am hoping to restore my paint as much as possible soon! Thanks

+1. Have always known of the clay bar process, but never really had a car with decent enough paint to dive into it further. This would be cool.

@E30Andrew @StreetSpeed6 there's plenty of how to detail videos on YouTube...clay bar is only the 2nd step. I've found the chemical guys videos very helpful they have it broken down on their site too.
Edit: Sho your car looks good!

Thanks man I will definitely check that out! I was just suggesting him post how he specifically does it possibly because there is a section in this forum specifically for things like that and not much in it really. Just nice to have more knowledge actually on the forum instead of saying it’s on youtube lol Guess even a thread with that link and a short paragraph or two of personal tips would just be nice that’s all..
