My 2009 has been on hiatus for a minute. Now that it's seaworthy again I want new floor mats but can only find used Gen1 mats.

I find some Gen2 mats that are allegedly new on ebay and a few other sites. But has anyone put Gen2 mats in a Gen1? How's the fit? It looks like they would be a decent fit and I don't care if it's not a precise fit as long as they don't bunch up along the edges.

I know they're different. I guess I'll have to stop someone with a Gen2 on the street and say "Let me look at your mats!"

I took a flyer and ordered from the big book store. The fit is very snug but I can live with it. The Gen2 mats are about an inch wider for all 4. And the driver side is a good 2 inches shorter. But they all squeeze into the footwells, if tightly. The grommets on the front don't align but the velcro-like stuff on the back facing holds them in place.

My old ones were looking really tired. Plus I like the red stitching that matches my paint and other interior highlights versus the silver on my old mats.

Since I only found used Gen1 mats, I call it a win! Next up. New HU.
