Well. The car now sits at home in my garage. There’s some buttoning up left to do but I drove 60miles yesterday with it. I was NOT babying it. No issues. No weird shit. Nothing odd at all. Drove better then I remember honestly. The car is so tight and dialed it just drives well. Plain and simple.

Base map sucks, so slow so boring. Really need Will to give me the sauce soon lol. Base map vdyno below. Logged from 3-5k rpm as requested by Will. 4th gear wot.

this log is already showing 74% idc up top. Not looking good lol. I will be needing to setup the PI sooner then later I think. I guess having both manifolds done plus some mild porting, the thing is just flowing that much more.

as for the balance shaft delete...the vibes are absolutely unreal LOL. My idle
Is set to 950 now but I’m gonna raise it another 100rpm. While driving the vibes aren’t bad at all and don’t bug me.
The car is so eager to rev out it seems. So free feeling. Downshifts are insane now. Just breath on the gas pedal and rpms fly. It’s amazing lol. The car will be fast this season if it stays together. That is for sure.

it’s going to the shop Tuesday for a control arm and an alignment. Gonna have the boys double check my work before I officially hit the track(once I have a better map lol). I also have plans on a splitter coming soon. Plywood diy splitter but still functional. Little side project I wanted to try. If I had the time.

any ways that’s where we’re at currently. Waiting for moar boosts.

Did you end up routing the oil cooler to a different location, or is it still in the radiator stack?

Oil cooler is currently not installed. wanted to do a couple oil changes before it goes back on.

it will NOT be in the same place this season. that's not happening this time. I have an idea for a spot that should work. we're going to have to fabricate some serious brackets but it should work out nicely

Lmao. There’s a local ms3 with his oil cooler installed like that. I personally don’t think I could pull that off

Honestly it's for looks. The air will just go around it instead of through it.

I could allow the cooler location if there was some attempt to secure the hoses

not to take this off topic, but this is the kind of style you're dealing with in bosozoku, hose security is not even on the list:

Well. Took the car to the shop today. Had them change my broken control arm do an alignment, and do fresh trans fluid while they were at it. I changed the oil, some 15w50 to try.

Also had them mount my re71’s on my new wheels that had been waiting there...the fitment is unbelievable. No wasted space. Take a look at this,
    738B569C-C4F3-4FF5-B204-6E3FC19326BC.jpeg
    E2B0838A-5449-4EE5-B842-9F83519FB690.jpeg

NO spacers were required. Wheel specs are 17x9 +40. These are konig hypergrams. I absolutely love how it looks. It’s just a meaty track day look and its perfect. I’ll get better pictures later.
Also went out and bought some fancy race lugs, forged steel vs the elcheapo amazon lugs I had that the threads were being pulled out of. I think these look real nice
    23E9B1E6-FBA0-4050-9461-F7CE8675DF55.jpeg

alignment was completed. And off I went. But not before receiving everyone’s favorite email “here’s your next map, 2logs, 3k-7.5k.” This is my first map after the base map where I wasn’t allowed past 5k. Time to have fun.

the car seems to be a little lazy down low, like below 4k, but past that it starts to PULL harder with rpm. It felt fantastic hitting that 7600rpm. Thats completely pinning the oem tach on a gen2. It’s just nice to see.

Was only a 3rd gear log, weight corrected for the set of wheels and tires i had in the hatch,
    3rdwot.jpg
so...if we compare to my stock block setup...that setup made around 330whp/340wtq at 24psi with 12* timing up top. well here we are making the same power, with 40ftlbs less, with 4psi less. that to me SCREAMS FLOW.

brings me to this problem, and again this is only a 3rd gear log. i usually only log 4th but i didnt have much road ahead and the extra RPM means the pulls go on longer, with significant increase in wheel speed per gear(i love it).

this is both good news and bad news. good we know the setup is moving air like a beast, bad because im only on revision 2 and already outta fuel. fuck sakes
    no_fuel_rev2.PNG

anyways how do you guys suggest i proceed? do i go do two 4th gear wot logs? or do i contact Will first and let him know we are WAY outta fuel. 4th stressing the car more will make way more boost. i did 1 4th gear pull(i didnt log it) but it was hauling. I'm certain it leaned right out though,
    IMG_7851.PNG

26.5psi at 7600rpm...i dont want to think what AFRs were doing...jeez.

i guess maybe i should email/call Will before proceeding to 4th gear logs. damn. so efficient. im getting bad ideas about a new turbo now. tell me no.

i think i can technically play with the SSC myself lol...but yea no. not yet. i need to find whatever drop in intank fuel pump, and i need some AN lines/fittings. ALSO....do i need a wot box? or is that only for not life shifts and launch control? i think i remember its used as rev limiter in PI setups right?

It is a much cleaner rev limiter but if you are not doing flat foot shifting or LC you probably don't HAVE to have it. I would recommend just doing it and getting it setup , once it is up and going it just works and is pretty hands off.

Yea you right. I should just do it one time correctly and call it a day. So I need to source a fuel pump(aem drop in?) and a wotbox(seem to be hard to come by used). Once I’ve got that all I’ll look into setup. I guess PI might happen sooner then later. Still waiting to hear from Will though.
