I couldn't see the crack until I pulled the bracket out of the car. I did an initial inspection, where you contort yourself into a corkscrew shape and attempt to fold you body up under the dash and still couldn't see anything. I have a Speed6, so I probably had more room than a Speed3 has to offer under there, LOL.[IMG]

LOL yea getting under there sucked. Such a struggle. I guess I’ll have to take it all apart and inspect. If no cracks then at least the master will be easy to replace

Welp. Something in the trans exploded. Not so much the trans but the bell housing I guess? Clutch fork, tob, clutch disc, flywheel, or pressure plate. Something there failed. Very annoying.

I’ve got the car over at my friends shop to do this shit on a lift. I’m not pulling the trans on my back nope no thanks not interested.

will see exactly what failed next week but as of now slave/master seem to be working as intended. This sucks lol.

I'm wondering if you fucked the fork or the TOB, would be really interesting if you did

Yea tob was a brand new ACT unit so it should be OK. I’m thinking the fork is bent or something. Once I know I will update here and we’ll see lol

I have seen so few truly bent forks, and even fewer from non-drift-clutch-kick folks, that I would be surprised. That thing is really beefy.

i agree its a very beefy piece. i doubt its bent. Once i know i will share with all. The lack of ugly sounds makes this even more interesting lol.

Its a shame my car is currently broken although it should be back up in time for some testing before my first event on May 16th.

I plan to complete in 3/6 timed events, and 1 track day school with this group Ontario Time Attack. This is a local time attack series and its one of the better ones for noobs(like me).

The track I'm attending as a learner is the fastest track in Ontario(i think it holds the highest average speed in Canada also of any track) so its pretty intense. General rule is if you go off at ANY corner, your cars toast and you may also be toast. There's a 5th gear straight away that leads into a 100mph corner, im not sure the speed ill be carrying but slower sub 200whp cars are able to hit 210-220kph on that straight away...i should be well into the mid-high 200's(kph). Ive been trying to get on this track for 2 seasons and only now do i think both the car and I are ready. I wont be competing at this track, only attending the HPDE day where ill probably have an instructor with me the entire day(would like to have a few alone laps at the end of the day hopefully).

Nice little incentive just released, this is rare in Canada. Cash prizes basically aren't a thing so this is awesome. IF the car works, and i can drive at all, top 5 shouldn't be out of the question. its not a ton of cash, but usually the winner simply gets bragging rights and a trophy so a few bucks definitely isn't anything to complain over. The way this series collects points i don't believe i need to compete in all 6 timed events, i just need to do reasonably well at the 3 events i do compete in. Lets hope the fucking car works LOL. shit.

I will be registering come Saturday. woohoo!

Another one of these from me. Time for some actual pulls in this one. It’s so satisfying and fun to watch the tach just run lol. I love it

Weird your light for traction control is in a different place than mine. I wonder if it's USA vs Canada or 2010 vs 2011

Mine is all the way to the lower right by the trip reset.

His cluster matches my US 2010, so I guess it's a year thing. The coolant light is different, too; we don't have that "blue until warm" thing. I've never paid attention to any other differences aside from the white vs red illumination; that's just what I noticed between mine and my buddy's 2012.

Nevermind I was either tired or drunk when I posted that. Mine is the same. I was thinking of the light that turns on when you turn off traction control using the switch. I haven't seen the light you have on in like 10 years since I have SWAS connected and haven driven with the traction control on in forever

    Broken pressure plate. Fuck sake.

    Can see the cracked piece
    B6E5B750-F2DA-406E-9DB1-E9B98649C554.jpeg

    Sooooo,

act reworked the flywheels and pressure plates back in 2018 or so. The new pressure plates do not work with the old flywheels. I need a whole entire new kit even though my flywheel is mint, my tob is new, and the clutch disc is new. What a shame. Also too bad ACT is back ordered till infinity.

I have an OEM luk/fidenza setup I pulled off a scrap motor I bought. It looks to be in great shape. That’s what’ll be in my car for this season. I’m really really going to miss that prolite flywheel. Booo. Hopefully the stocker doesn’t slip on me.

I just got a hold of the 600521 (new style) ACT flywheel that replaced the old style 600520 (I assume you had this one), and the 6puck sprung disc PN 6240508 and HD pressure plate PN MZ031. This is the exact combo sold by ACT on their website now (https://www.advancedclutch.com/products/transmission/zx4-hdg6-hd-race-sprung-6-pad) except the disc sold is labeled PN 6240508-2, but my understanding is that the discs were never a problem.
The FW took a week to get here from www.therpmstore.com, and the disc 6240508 (not the 6240508-2 new one) (https://www.ebay.com/itm/193847066179) / pp (https://www.ebay.com/itm/184602012390) a few days from ebay. You should be able to get similar ship times. Call the rpmstore and ask how long their waiting time is.

The Fidanza FW is 11ish lb and the ACT Prolite is 15.7lb (stock is 23-24ish lb I believe), with Fidanza having better heat dissipation due to aluminum construction which should technically lead to improved clutch disc life... curious how you'll find the difference to affect drivability.

The 6240508-2 is working with the old setup. That’s the disc I had in my car until this failure.

the luk/fidenza combo went in this weekend. Guess I’ll see how it is this week. Still need to finish tuning.

the light weight of the ACT 6 puck setup was nice to have and it felt fantastic on track and on the street. Hoping the stocker doesn’t mess me up too bad.
