    140,000km or 87,000miles. I don’t think that’s a ton.

Are you having any fueling issues or are you just concerned about how it looks?

The outside of that HPFP piece doesn't do anything except sit there. What does the internal surface look like and what does the piston look like?

Springs don't have infinite life, but I would check the rate of a couple and compare. The OE springs are pretty soft, but they work fine up to any RPM we're seeing. Even at 300°F, you won't see much degradation of elastic modulus vs what we see at say 200°F.

I’ve been trying to track down a random drop in fuel pressure at wot. I also seem to have a slight lower then expect idle psi. Around 350-380 it bounces around sometimes landing on 420 which I guess is the norm.

fprv has been replaced. Spill valve serviced and cleaned.
I mention the spring thinking if it is getting soft, breaking down over time due to heat maybe that could be contributing to this issue?

last season I had drop in fuel pressure on track at wot. This was thought to be the internals sticking. I cleaned them up and had no issues the rest of the summer. The piston also shows some signs of wear.

with auto techs reply to the pictures I sent them I guess something here is a little off?

I’m also curious how hot it gets. There’s definitely friction in there and when my oil is hot hot, that surely isn’t helping.

when I had my drop in fuel pressure during my cruise the other week it was at the hottest part of the day when my oil had been cooking 250f for hours. Thinking that didn’t help anything.

How long have you been using your current injectors? I've had 2 injectors fail in the last couple years. Starts with a light misfire, random pressure drops, and one was bad enough to leak after shutting it down (thought HPRV due to fuel pressure not climbing after shutdown).

Injectors have about 1.5k miles on them since cleaning. I would’ve guessed injectors if this was still my stock block but these injectors should be good.

My failed injectors were ones that had been cleaned. My engine hasn't seen more than ~500 miles since the build, ALL are hard miles, just like yours. My car lives in boost and the high revs lol.

They were my last stop both times because I couldn't believe they could be bad in this few of miles...

Damn. Damn damn damn lol. You make good points and you make me think. It’s possible for sure. When my new hpfp internals arrive I’ll swap them in and we’ll see. If the issues proceed then I think you’re right. I’ll send my other injectors out for cleaning and swap them in. I hope this isn’t the case though lol.

What was the way in which they failed after having just been cleaned? Dis-loged debris, electronics failure?

They went from in my car to in the trash. New injectors went in and the car ran fine.

I would venture to say debris because they have been gradual failures with the injector stuck open. Electronic failure wouldn't hold the valve open when a new injector fixed it.

Don't forget to check the tiny mesh filters at the injectors and HPFP. Those things degrade over time.

So the mesh filter at the hpfp I replaced same time the motor went in. About 1.5k miles ago so that’s fresh.

As for my injectors I believe the place that did the cleaning replaced all those internal filters with stainless mesh filters vs the oem plastic.

New fuel rail brackets completed. These ain’t gonna break lol. They have some spring to them so any vibration should be a non issue. It’s sold as hell too. Should be perfect.

LOL how I have my charge pipe secured. Is what it is. This has been working.

Did some cruising today after fixing my fuel rail brackets yesterday and installing new hpfp internals. Car is quick. So much fun to drive. Check the vdyno, freaking afr is just a line lol. I Look in the log and it’s just pinned at 11.76. Awesome.

definitely feels great. I’m also impressed with how much grip this car makes. Like you can just be moron stupid through a corner at wot and nope it’s fine just takes it. Clearly I’m not pushing hard enough. Car needs to see the freaking race track desperately. If I drive well, it will be properly quick this season no doubts there.

thought this was a cool comparison. Same road as always. Last years setup vs this years
    5518D09D-4E60-4EAD-BC5A-8155FBC15F44.jpeg

had to give the car a wash as it’s been a while. I really like the way this thing looks. It’s simple. Clean.

Developed a rear end clunk today. Maybe rear endlinks? I have never replaced the rear endlinks in my 5+ years of ownership of this car. I guess it’s time lol.

Wear a diaper the first time you hit the track you are going to shit your pants with the new power curve

    LOL.

I’m going to be honest here...I am a little nervous maybe. It’s fucking nasty on the street where I’m just babying it. On the track? It’s going to take some driver recalibration. The power curve is amazing and it contributes to the traction for sure. Dead hooking sweepers and corner exits just flat out wot with a decent bit of steering angle is SO satisfying. It’s going to be wild. I will need more brake pad I think also.

Eyeballing from the graph but you have 50 more horsepower at the old redline and then carry that for what another 1000 rpm? Totally different car

It feels like it. I can rev it all the way out and it just pulls. It’s very very noticeable and it’s a completely different car for sure.

Still haven’t turned PI on lol. Just extend out that torque curve a little more? Mmmmmmm. Can’t wait.
