Kiddo got car back from body shop today. It was in to paint front and rear bumpers and install the Bayson R grille he had purchased. He wasn't expecting to see the big mouth scoop or the BaysonR front lip that I had purchased and dropped off at body shop without him knowing. Lets just say his jaw dropped when he saw the car. I'm not sure if I should take that as a compliment or an insult.

As an owner of a silver 2010 I really need to take my car to a body shop to get freshened up

I forgot how nice it could look

Maybe I'll wash it for the first time in two years this weekend as a start

As in the SpongeBob cartoons would say “One day later”. After removing the side mirror caps, scuffing, priming, painting them glossy black and clear while they were on the table drying we got called up for lunch and when we headed back out it was sudenly windy af and the table had blown over and the caps were on the other side of the driveway. After many colorful words back to step one. Popped them in this morning…finally.[IMG]

Finished up the amp and capacitor install today as well as back up camera. I know, not needed with a car this size but the radio already has the plug-in for backup camera and the camera that we bought for $25 is incorporated into the license plate illumination lens which made for a clean install. Big thanks to @BAT-man for selling us the stuff we used. I built the housing for the amp and capacitor the sub enclosure was already built so just had to bolt it in. Sounds awesome, when that black ice tree shakes like crazy you know its hitting pretty good.

Just in case any of you are wondering how the backup camera looks

Dropped this cheap amazon bluetooth unit into my Speed6 today. Tested it out...works great!! I was totally prepared for failure for $20. Worst case, I would have a connector for the MEDIA plug in the back of the head unit. Easy install, 12v+ keyed power, ground, plug into head unit.

I use my previous cell phone as my music device and carry it around everywhere. I bluetooth to my sound bar, deck, garage, at work and in the Speed6 I was connecting using a headphone jack. Now as soon as I turn on the car and phone, they are connected and ready to go.

@SyntheticAtmosphere are you able to use it for calls as well or only music? If using it for calls is it a situation where you'd have to speak towards the phone is the vehicle has no microphone or is there an option for a microphone attachment?

There is a supplied microphone. It has a clip to attach to your clothes (which seems odd) and the wire isnt long enough to go from behind the head unit to say your visor. I am going to mount it to my phone holder on the dash to the right of my cluster. Havent tested the microphone while driving yet, but made a call from in my garage.

You can get longer-wired mics to throw it up in the sunroof area, but i've had good luck mounting a very similar one to my gauge cluster area for various cars, kind of like you're going to do, Synthetic.

We got around to replacing the front end links today, what was in there were TRW end links, not sure if they are good or bad but unfortunately the new OE end links did not solve the clunking problem. I can't seem to see anything loose or out of sorts so might just have to take it to my mechanic to see what's going on under there unless someone else has a place for me to look that doesn't require taking half the front end apart and then not have the parts to fix it and have to put it all back together.

My next guess would be the sway bar bushings but looks to be more than I feel like doing in the driveway.

Bad strut mounts will make a clunk when going over bumps. It can sound similar to bad end links

L337 I don’t think that’s it but could be wrong. I say that because the Kia dealership where we bought the car said they replaced front shocks as well as a few other parts so I figured the did it right and installed mounts also. Too me the struts look brand new and from what I can see the mounts look pretty new also. The struts are still a shiny black and I’m attaching pics of the strut towers. Thoughts?

The subframe bolts, the 17mm and 19mm big mafks, they get not fully tightened a lot and this results in a clunk when accel/braking.

If the dealership just did struts I would actually lean towards them not getting everything back together right enough

oh joy, is there something oddballish in the MS3 to lead you to your statement? I mean struts and brakes should be something every mechanic should do with 100% success rate.

While I had the car down on the ground I pushed down on both fenders trying to reproduce the noise and also when in the air looked for anything loose but visually don't see anything and nothing is shaking around, Everything "looks" good under there.

I've had ball joints and torque arm bushing (control arm is different) cause clunking when going over bumps or like driveway transitions.
