The pistons are 12.5:1. But it'll be lower with the headwork and the slightly thicker than stock HG I'll be running

Thanks to @Maisonvi for the badass hellcat setup to replace my existing one. Installed that today as well as new orings, and lock rings as part of the ms6 recall. Won't let the dealership touch my car, so I ordered the recall kit for $51 and did it myself

No further updates for now. My buddies shop that's gonna do the swap for me is still catching up on other work. Who knows when they'll be ready for me. At this point, I'm working 6 days a week anyways and don't have time to take it up there let alone wrench on it or tune it when it's ready.

Update. My beater mz3 is finally road worthy after sitting in my back yard in true Kentucky fashion since August.

I'll be dropping the ms6 off at TC CUSTOMS in Fairfield, OH for the motor swap and a boat load of other things sometime by 6-20-22. And they'll be doing it all while the girl and I are in Bermuda on vacation til the 30th.

Barring getting lost in the Bermuda triangle, the car should be ready for pickup when we get back as long as everything goes smoothly on their end

Here's what they'll be tackling in addition to the swap

Dropped the car off last Thursday at the shop. All the drive train stuff has been completed.

They're now buttoning up the engine stuff and getting it ready to drop in.

Spent a week on vacation in bermuda which was much needed and amazing. So now just looking forward to getting my car back and getting on with the break-in process and tuning it!

So this is somewhat personal but was it expensive having them do all this install work? I mean I'm super glad you're able to take some time away and let someone else do the work but just figured they probably charge an arm and leg for it lol

Its not cheap. But I also don't have the time or space to do it myself here. No garage at our house and we both work a TON. But as the saying goes...work hard/play hard. Fortunate to have a partner that's supportive of my hobbies and loves to have just as much fun as I do. When we aren't at work, we're always doing something together and with our pups.

Motor is ready to go in as of tonight. Tommy wants to tidy up some of my wiring and catch can lines before dropping it in.

The cpe exhaust manifold typically requires you replace a stud closest to the EGR with a bolt to clear a PTE turbo, however Tommy has sorted that so I can run a stud and nut there.

Just my luck. Michelle's parents are in town and staying with us, helping us rip out carpet in our dogs bedroom and guest bedroom and replacing it with hardwood. So I park my beater in the cul-de-sac so they can park their truck in our driveway.

Come out to go to work today and see my mz3 smashed up and a note on it. Luckily whomever hit me is insured and there is a claim started.

We'll see how this goes. I've never had to deal with another persons insurance before

Deal only with your insurance process a claim and let your insurance get reimbursed by their insurance. Your insurance wants to keep you happy as a customer their insurance just wants to resolve as cheaply as possible.

You will be out the deductible for a few months but your insurance company will make sure you get a check for that amount once it's all settled

This is the way, sucks it happened atleast they left a note
Edit: I've never delt with USA insurance but up in Canada land I've done the same go through my own give them the info of the other driver / insurance and let the two insurance companies sort it out, ensures I get things like a rental car that I'm covered with my insurance for

    Smol update.

Engine is in the car. Pivot shaft seal and breather replaced in the transmission.
    IMG_20220714_200452.jpg IMG_20220714_200454.jpg IMG_20220714_202227.jpg IMG_20220714_202229.jpg

Luckily, Tommy Found this before it became a big issue. One of the fuel line fittings was rubbing against something and has a good amount rubbed through and the line going into it was frayed and starting to pull out. So the fitting is getting replaced and the ptfe line is getting a fresh cut before going into the new fitting

Other than that, @Jimme T is sending his Welded up clutch pedal from his/wife's ms6 to go in my car since i couldnt find anyone local to weld and reinforce mine, and I'll be sending him my pedals to fix up and use for his. (Thanks sir).

Aside from that, Tommy has the wot box all wired up said he is working on a surprise for me (which I'm assuming is a wire tuck)

Then we should be clear for first start and for me to pick the car up and start break-in and tuning.

    Will keep y'all posted

First start was a success. Tommy sent me over a video of firing it up. He primed the oil system a good 5-6 times for 10 seconds each before attempting to fire it up.

Have a vacuum leak to find, and then front bumper and the welded clutch pedal have to go on. Then I'll finally be able to pick it up!
