I’m considering upgrading my stock turbo/exhaust manifold and getting something a little more performance. I have seen turbo manifolds on eBay for relatively cheap. They look better than stock, but do they hold up? I attached a photo of it. Here’s the link to one I was looking at:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/114265946134?hash=item1a9ac7f816:g:h2UAAOSwEzxYQ~xG

If any of you have experience with this model, let me know. I’m curious how they hold up over time. If it’s not a good piece, what should I get instead? I don’t need anything too crazy, just an upgrade over stock. Thanks!

What are your other mods? An exhaust manifold isn't much of a benefit unless you are maxed everywhere else

Right now I’m just running upgraded HPFP internals and a Cobb RMM.

Soon, I will be doing an Cobb SRI and Corksport inlet hose. Downpipe + exhaust soon after that.

Ok, so like a Corksport SRI? Or would you recommend something different?

you want a full intake, not a dinky stock sized one and a tip. HTP or RamFab would be the best option if you can find one used on facebook. JBR is alright, my 3.5in fits like ass tbh but it works.

I wouldnt even have an exhaust manifold in my mind at your stage. Youre pretty much stock at this point. Downpipe, full intake, exhaust and a freek/PD tune. Then think about manifolds and turbo etc.

Awesome. I appreciate the knowledge. I was more asking on the exhaust manifold for down the road. I’ll try to find a full intake around and see what I can make with it! Thanks guys!

Also, will I need to slim down my battery? I want to avoid that if possible.

Thanks! I'll stick with 3" for now. While the advice is great, no one fully answered my original question on the eBay exhaust manifolds. Can anyone running them or knowledgeable in that area chime in?

xs power is the only cheapo manifold I’d go with. I’ve had some people run them for years and some people end up with leaks.

Graveyards is great if you don’t want EWG. If you want EWG and stock flange, don’t get it cause getting to the bolts is impossible.

I'm trying to find a 3" intake for my speed. Does anyone know where to get a HTP intake? Can't seem to find any online. I'm leaning towards a JBR Tru-3.0 wide path aluminum intake if I can't find one. Also, can I use my stock MAF sensor with a 3" intake?

Side note: I wouldn't mind a 3.5" intake, but it seems like you had to either relocate the ECU or get a small battery + box, both of which I'm not particularly interested in.

You use the stock maf sensor and need to run a tune calibrated for the larger intake.

Htp isn't Making their intakes tight now due to supply issues, checkout ramfab or midnight racing they can both make them for you

That exhaust manifold looks horrible. If you're looking for something like that for cheap check out XSPower manifolds. The one I had held up well. I went with the external wastegate option.

There are much better quality ones out there. You'll spend a good bit on that but they are worth it.

I have an intake for sale that would be a cheap upgrade for you. It's a corksport turbo inlet pipe and a mazdaspeed 3" intake that goes on the end of that. K&N filter to go with it too. $100 for it all and it's yours.

That's $25 less than it is listed for in the for sale section so get a membership for $10 for the year here on MSO and buy it from me lol Still way less than buying an intake anywhere else. I maxed a ko4 turbo with it.

What is the advantage of a full 3" intake over a 3" and TIP? This seems like a good deal.

Integrated maf is a good thing also generally it fits better plus less couplers are always a plus

So yes, as awa said it isn't 1 full piece like a full 3" intake would be but it's also less than half the cost and will do what you are wanting which is to flow more air (so more power) and hear more turbo noises lol

This is true am I really going to notice the difference? I’ll be tuned for an intake and DP + Test pipe.

There is a bit of a difference as far as max airflow into the engine how much would you notice as the driver in the car probably not much but there is a small HP difference. from what I understand an integrated maf housing is better for tuning and maf cal which makes for a smother tune which is beneficial. Again how much difference would you notice as the driver? Not my area of to give you an answer.

Now from an ease of install I can talk from personal experience, it's easier any time I get to deal with less hose clamps I will less to troubleshoot later, also the better fitment is just worth it.
