It’s interesting because although that is true, the k20 is far from “good enough”. Unless that’s Honda’s good enough. Then what the fuck is Honda’s best effort? F1 engines lol?

but yes. You do have a point.

    well well well...

it seems i am missing an under panel of sorts...looks like it just covers from the bumper to the subframe, just past the rad.

    its 25cad on rockauto...with $80 shipping. Oooof...worth it maybe?

If it's anything like the undertray on the speeds it does help cooling and thus worth the money imo

Turns out there’s some kinda bank holiday on Friday. Looks like I’ll be dumpster diving the local scrap yards to find this piece. It’s the same on si and non si. Should be easy

The engine department plays by its own rules, they all come from the motorcycle department where everything has to optimized. Plus high efficiency is high performance too they just happen to tackle efficiency in a way that also is good for the aftermarket

How much at the dealer? You wouldn't pay shipping

I would also price the hybrid one. If it were my car I would probably get that one if the price isnt nuts

So the hybrid panel under the rad is the same. The difference with the hybrid is it actually has panels under the whole car basically. Kinda like flat floor style. Some guys do this to their SI’s for the drag reduction. Something to consider maybe. Since it’s technically Oem shit, I don’t think it can fuck me for classing. Maybe?

Ill see what I can find at the scrap yard on Friday. If nothing, then dealer it is.

If it is an OEM component then it should not affect classing rules.

If a full under tray I'd available and can mount without modification then definitely get it.

I see you're in Canada and not certain whether this makes it harder or not, but I assume you've sourced Ebay, not the off brand poorly fitting items, but people just unloading or piecing out their civics. Co-part is an option too, since you're already considering the junkyard.

The mount provisions are actually already there from factory. Even for the hybrid under panels. Basically direct bolt on

I always consider eBay but shipping usually ruins the deal. If I can find locally at a scrap yard that’s perfect. If not I may need to just go to the dealer.

I recently purchased a drivers side fender liner and it was $120cad. So not terrible from the dealer

Purchase through Majestic Honda? I have to ask since we're on a Mazda site.

My mouth should have stayed closed, I use Majestic for OEM parts here in the states, but not only was the price much higher than you quoted from Rock but to add insult to injury, they no longer ship to Canada. I then went to two other sites to find similar prices for Toronto Honda and Carparts.com while being lower I couldn't locate a Canada shipping option without a 3rd party affiliate.

I'm just going to walk away quietly now, sorry.

I have a guy locally who parts out tons of 8th Gen SI’s and rsx type S and whatnot. He’s got a huge stock pile of oem parts. I’ve gotten an alternator and a map sensor off him. Pricing is always great too. Sure you take a risk on it being used, but $80cad for a Honda oem alternator? I’ll give it a shot lol.

It’s kinda tough to shop online as you noticed a lot of places won’t ship here or if they do they kill you on shipping to the point it’s almost not worth it.

It’s too bad. For the mazdaspeeds tascaparts.com is great for the oem stuff. Used them plenty

How is your local dealers parts counter? The Mazda one near me sucks but when I still had a Ford that dealer was incredible, If I went in at lunchtime anything I needed would be there by 5 pm and it was always cheaper than aftermarket. While iowned that truck the only thing I didn't get at the dealer was oil

My local Mazda dealer was pretty good. Usually they’d have what I need by next day. If it was coming from out of country then usually 2 days. They were definitely not bad.

I actually haven’t dealt with my local Honda dealer yet lol. I always try and go used for everything. So far anyways. The spare hub I bought was through a buddy at Napa. Saved me some money and it’s an skf so it should be proper.

So, maybe one of you can offer me some guidance here.

I’ve been chasing what I thought was an exhaust leak all season. The smell of exhaust in the cabin is unbelievably strong to the point I’ll get dizzy on longer drives(even to the track).

I had the car on the lift before leaving for Michigan and we checked everything. There are 0 exhaust leaks we could find. Literally nothing. Even with the muffler plugged. No leaks.

we did find one grommet on the fire wall was a little popped out. Fixed that but still same shit. At idle it’s bad. While driving it’s bad. Windows up or down. Still terrible. It’s actually worse with the windows up even.

im at a total loss as to where this damn exhaust smell is coming from?!

the car is catless but so was my Mazda for a bit and I had 0 smell in the cabin from the speed. My buddy with his catless 8th Gen also reports 0 smell in the cabin. It’s brutal.

what could I be missing? Where is this smell coming from?! I get out of the car and I smell bad of exhaust, my clothes all smells. Anything in the car smells. It’s crazy

Have you tried the ol smokey smokey up the exhaust pipe with the car off? Same idea as with checking intercooler piping.

If its a heat induced gaping issue try it with the exhaust hot and see if that changes anything?
