What's going on everybody! Just getting a thread started to document my build. I'm finally getting back to putting my speed 6 together after having it stopped for a little over two years. Engine is being built right now and I should get it back in about two weeks. Sending injectors out to get cleaned, and trying to decide on a clutch. I want to re use my fidanza aluminum flywheel so that limits my options a bit. So far I think the spec3+ is compatible, the luk and not sure what else works with that flywheel. My goal is to have it back on the road in 3 months. Still need to have the transmission rebuilt and a few other odds and ends fixed.

I'm also powder coating a few things. I'll post pics as parts show up. Here is a little teaser of the powder.

Pics of the car as it sits? As a starting point of the build thread.

I ran a Spec clutch on my Starion and it held up well. At least until I did a burnout and it melted to my flywheel. It was their Stage 3+ clutch. That was also used with a Fidanza flywheel. However the price was good and it held power without slipping.

    Quick update!

More parts powder coated. I should start assembly in the next two weeks. Waiting for some odd and ends I should be getting soon.

Car still needs a little prep work before it will be ready anyway. Going to try and take the driveshaft to a local shop and see if they want to tackle a rebuild. I also have a new rack and pinion I'll be installing. After that my downpipe needs to be machined, there was a small exhaust leak at the v band clamp. It's finally coming together.

I'll also be cerakoting the block. A blue finish, hopefully we get a good weekend soon so I can spray.

    Slow build is slow.

I keep having other car work delay me. I helped my father in law swap the engine in his Silverado with a rebuilt unit. No fun. Then I helped my dad reseal his obs 7.3 power stroke. Pulled it out, took it all the way down to a long block. Replaced every single seal and hose. All new accessories. Even painted it. Had the zf5 transmission rebuilt while I was at it.

Finally back at it with my car, hopefully no more interruptions. Pics out of order.

Baby steps. Need to install the sensor on the oil adapter but forgot to pickup sealant. Injectors and fuel rail are next, then accessories. I've had to dig up old pictures to try and remember how everything goes. I guess that's what happens when it's been sitting apart for so long.

Waiting on a few gaskets I forgot to order. Gives me time to try and even out my dump tube. It's a no name ebay and always had a small leak. I'm also dropping the rear diff to take care of the busted rubber on the mounts.

I'm using oem for most gaskets, but the few Mahle I've used look like great quality. Anything fel-pro I had went straight to the trash. Those gaskets looked terrible.

While I'm waiting for more engine parts, I am tackling the rear diff mounts. At this point I'm on a bit of a budget, so I'm rolling the dice on just replacing the rubber. If these last a year that's a win. I don't really plan on dailying the car so hopefully these hold me off for a bit. She's alive! After countless setbacks, I finally got her back together.

Ran into a leaky cam cap issue that was starving the OCV, and so many other little things. But at least it's running now. No cels, passed emissions.

I tried taking some datalogs earlier, but my readings are so off. Throttle position percent doesn't make sense, accel pedal data doesn't make sense, boost psi readings are way off. I feel like the access port isn't calibrated or getting some really bad readings. The car itself is running great. I thought about updating my access port but I don't know if that will mess with my current map that was made about 4 years ago. It's a freektune map for my bnrs2

Tomorrow it gets an alignment and I'll try and grab some more logs. Hopefully the new ones make sense.

Leaking oil. I honestly think it's from where the head meets the block. I could have sworn that's why I sent this off for a rebuild. Needless to say, feeling a bit defeated after all that work.
