Alright so I finished putting the newer gen 2 engine in my gen 1 car, and all pretty much bolted on. With everything bolted on including the Intercooler and bov, when I go to start the car it starts right up within the first crank, but within a second it shuts off. within that one second the engine sounds mint.

taking off the intercooler with the bov connected and trying again the car starts and run albeit a little rough with a cough here an there but it runs, the second you put the intercooler back on the car shuts off immediately.

I went back and tightened everything I could possibly think of and retried starting the car, again the same problems, back and forth doing the same thing a few times I still can't figure out what's wrong. I saw someone else with a very similar problem, except he fixed his with revving it? my car does exactly what this one does in the video.

Simplest solution is usually the answer. Check all your grounds, including the one on the HPFP.

Alright I figure I could update even though I haven't done much. Alright I triple checked all my plugs, hoses, and grounds just to make sure nothings a miss.

I also got in contact with fattie motor works for some advice on this thing as well as some central florida ms3 locals. we have narrowed down the problem to what seems like the reserc valve that connects to the intercooler. The valve leaks under pressure, the part that kinda confuses me about the whole thing is it's such a small leak, granted it's noticeable, but it's nowhere near the size I thought it would be.

The engine dies so quickly just like in the video, so I just figured it was a massive leak, tomorrow morning I'm going to fix my oil pump leak then see if I can go for a longer idle and more troubleshooting, the good news is the engine starts right up without hesitation so im sure its not that.

Is the ballast resistor on the driver side frame rail plugged in?

Sorry for the long wait, but I ended up asking someone at my work who has much much more experience than me with cars on what he thought the problem could be, and I'll be damned he hit it right on the head. I have left the vacuum tube for the PCV valve disconnected without realizing.

Started right up and have been daily driving it since then, thanks for all suggestions guys I really appreciate the help!

I ended up buying an accessport v3, and I have been doing a few logs here and there and reading, and I think I may need a new HPFP, I think I might not be getting enough fuel pressure although I don't exactly know what the stock pressure at WOT would be nor an aftermarket pressure at WOT.

I did read on another thread that if your car struggles to past 1600psi at WOT then odds are you need a better pump internals, and mine is just barely making it over that hump. If anyone would be willing to compare my logs with theirs I would be more than grateful, Id really like to know if my car is running correctly or not.

It would help if you posted a log.

    What are your mods?
It looks like a FMIC, intake, exhaust manifold and possibly a turbo?
I really hope someone has already done the fuel pump......

Nahh nowhere near that modded. It has just an HKS short ram, and it has what looks like a 2.5" catback exhaust from idk what company

From comparisons with other speeds on the logs I don't think it has the pump.

I'll post my log when I get home in an hour or so

I am sorry for the slow reply, I have been working eleven hour shifts for seven days a week and it's been pretty killer. But now I have a little time to upload the logs I do have, I have been babying the car since it's my daily driver car and I want it to really last.

These were all done on the cobb 93 basemap, it was what I felt closely described my setup.

You need to make some cleaner logs. HPFP looks fine but I would not push it any further or mod anymore until you got an aftermarket one. When you are doing a log , be it 3rd or 4th. Turn off traction control and the A/C. Start the logging right before you are about to go WOT.
    1. Turn on logging "make sure you try and log on as flat of road as possible"
    2. Be at 2500-3k in 3rd or 4th
    3. Mash the gas , go WOT up close to redline.
    4. Stop Logging.
