    Anyway,

My knuckle/spindle/hub finally showed up. Instead of buying new like I should, I ended up buying used. I was searching around on the eBay and stumbled onto this and my gut told me to take a chance:

The mileage is almost the same as the mileage on the passenger side bearing. The bearing feels okay, no play. Very smooth feel on the rotation. As far as I can tell, the knuckle looks straight and true. At least the brake caliber mounting holes are straight now.

So Tesca screwed up my order. Received a switch instead of my exhaust hangers for the mid pipe I received some switch. So lucky my I get to go though the whole returns process. Oh well.

Today I installed the eBay hub that I bought and was able to put the wheel on without the spacers. I also installed the OEM exhaust donut and the end link for the RSB.

I'll I have left is to install the under tray and air ducting for the TMIC. Then I'll finally be done.

    Well Fuck. Thank you.

So the exhaust hanger that is right before the first resonator is the same one for the two in the front? Wonder why Mazda has a different part number for that hanger compared to the other one. Maybe a different stiffness?

No idea, I used all of these with my CNT cat back and they worked great. I was doing this on a 07 speed3. I recommend using some lube to get the old ones out , makes it much easier. Just use a pic to spread the rubber open a bit, spray lube in it and then use a pair of channel locks to pop them off. It's totally worth doing all of them if you get a new cat back.

Today I finally got around to evacuating the system to check for leaks. If it holds the vacuum all night after I close the valves then I will fill it. Crossing my fingers.

Harbor Freight FTW! I have this same set and their vacuum pump. Works great. Do you need to add compressor oil too? Good Luck

    From my common parts thread.

Well, had a few mishaps trying to break the car in and put some miles on the new engine.
First was a power steering line popped off causing me to leave a really last mess trying to get back into my garage. The road leading up to my house and driveway are stained with the memory of being an idiot.
    Forgot to install the clamp.
Then shortly after I was working under the hood checking for Leaks and what not. An AC line blew up in my face and I was sprayed with R134a and green leak detect dye. Apparently the big line going into the firewall was not clipped in all the way and when I bumped it.... BOOM! Re clipped the line in and has been fine after being refilled.

    It got its first bath:

I am currently at 850 miles and the engine feels great. On its 4th and final conventional oil change. Hit about 5k the other day, feels very strong. CS internals are getting installed as soon as my broken solenoid but new condition HUCO fuel pump gets here. I'll be using a new 2.0T Retainer with the Oring.

Headlight wiring has been completed and now I just have to wire in the fog lamps.

Congratulations man! I've been watching your build for a while and and I thought it was done for with that electrical nightmare but I'm glad to see she's running!

I am sorry that I have not updated this thread in a while. Finally Corksport released thier Intake manifold and of course I just had to get one. My buddy was stocking out, so I picked up a CS TMIC and race pipe to go with it. Car feel solid now that the engine has loosened up a bit. Been puting a lot of miles on the car, I need to stop driving so much!

Right now I am experimenting with a high tempature silicone hose to connect my EGR tube to the manifold's PCV port. Next year when it comes time to emission testing, I want to be able to plug in my EGR valve and cruise into a smog check station. Luckily they do not check for the VTCS so delelting that code should not be an issue. The CS Manifld is so close to looking factory that not many can tell a difference. Unfortunatly the Meth ports on it sure does hint aftermarket.

Put a plug in the tube from your EGR and hook it up to the mani.

I wish it was that simple. California switched to a OBD2 only test. All the parameters need to be Ready or it will be an instant fail. When the 16w mani is completed, I am hoping that I can hook my EGR hose up in the same manner. Run unplugged (valve closed)for 1.95years run 1/2 month plugged in. Try to sneak through a visual.

for the vtcs, you can also just plug the acutator into the harness and secure it out of the way. as long as the ecu gets a signal from it no cel.
