Aftermarket rods & stock pistons

    I couldn't go to a gen2 just because I love the vertical tach. Love watching that needle climb.

    Hello,

    there is still a situation that cannot be used Manley rods with oem pistons?

    If yes, which dimension is not compatible?

    Yes.

    The width of the wrist pin end of the rod is too wide to fit into the oem piston.

    Imo you would have to be crazy to want to use the oem pistons anyway.

    Once apon a time I thought 4032 pistons were the shit, and I built a motor with sp63 4032's (which was a royal pain in the ass due to sp63's defects).

    I've since built another motor with the standard 2618's. I run that motor all year long daily driving in the cold Ontario winter months. I beat on it and it absolutely loves it.

    Imo there's no place for stock pistons or 4032 alloy at all in this motor. The ptw clearance you can gain is marginal at best if you clearance the 2618's on the low end of the scale, and as long as you don't plan to push very high hp from it, it'll be fine.
