I have designed a prototype VVT solenoid cap. This is a rough textured 3d printed representation. If these were to go forward with production they would be molded out of plastic and have a top insert of either Polished / anodized aluminum or a carbon fiber insert as pictured. There is a second part to this assembly that holds the cap in place but is not pictured.

I am trying to see if there is any interest in this product before committing to production.

    Expected to be a $30 - $40 item.

I can also make up extension harnesses that are plug and play for the solenoid. You could run the wire under your intake manifold and through the coil pack valley to completely hide the wire.

I've taken the next step and purchased an SLA 3d printer.

Going to print out a higher resolution prototype that can be used to make some molds off of.

I think this product has enough demand since it is a simple and unique idea.

I had to make the prototype more bulky for this model but the next prototype should be a little lower profile.

I refined the design a little - New 3d printer should arrive tomorrow but won't have a chance to mess with this for a bit since I am buried in orders and will be packing and shipping all weekend.

Once I get this printed out at 25 micron resolution (the first prototype was done on an fdm type 3d printer at 200 micron) I should have something I can used to make some molds for production.

The way this thing attaches to the vvt solenoid is just awesome! But that won't be shown until these go into production.

Still learning the new printer - The next one I just did turned out better too. I should have a part that I can use as a mold master now.

And it looks like those with top mounts could still rock a cover as well
