Well i can now say with confidence that the map sensor was the culprit of my issues. Id still like to know how the map sensor has the ability to cause such a problem and not give any signs of issue. I should have logged map voltage i suppose. I have a 6 hour trip im going to take in the car to pick up a friend from the airport tomorrow morning and after that its time to ditch the ap and install versatuner. All i have left in my vt tune is filling in the timing maps and the maf curve also trying to figure out the scalars for a 3bar map. The scalars are different in vt. I turned boost up to 25 and ran her all the way to 7500 and didnt skip a beat FINIALLY

Well id like to say things are going smoothly switching to vt but it isnt. I cannot get the right scalars for the bosch 3 bar map for the life of me. Thinking about just going back to atr. Koeo boost pressure is -2.1 and ive tried lots of sets of scalars and its always reading -2.0 or -2.1. Really fucking annoying the lack of support there is trying to find out what scalars work. Seems like the software has gone through so many changes that all the previous posts on scalars dont seem relevant anymore. Ive wasted half a day fucking with it and im just going to install my ap again until vt gets more user friendly.

You can do it two ways. Allow unsafe values or math.

"MAP sensor values can be simplified so that you don't need to enable Advanced mode. Multiply the first two numbers together to get the new first number and use 1 as the second. The offset remains the same. In the case of this example, 330 x 0.23 = 75.9 So the values you would enter are 75.9, 1, and 6.05" @steve@versatune posted this on my thread.

You also need to make sure you have it set right in the gauges area.

So how do you get to that gauges area?

It has to be the "Intake Manifold Absolute Pressure" field. Boost Pressure reads settings from it. So drag it out there and configure it. Then it should save that way and everything will start to look correct.

Ok finally got eveything going, really have to pay attention to the descriptions on the tables, fought through a few logs tryin to figure out why im hittin fuel cut at 24psi and the boost fuel cut table is in absolute pressure not pressure above 1atm. Other than that its strange how much better the car drives in closed loop and part throttle, feels more like a car i could daily drive. All i did was put together a basic map from my atr datalogs. Took more revisions than i thought just to get it running good. Im hitting higher loads in vt compared to atr like .3 or so higher. So im starting to get the hang of vt, lots of stuff you kind of just have to figure out on your own like converting the logs to csv files and stuff like that. Hopefully tomorrow i can try and wrap up this 91 tune and move up to e30 and crank up the boost. I think im going to stop at 25psi with 91. The fuel just sucks and without meth injection or something i feel like thats about as far as i can safely go. The car is finally starting to feel really fun to drive. Cant wait to see what e30 and e50 can do. I think ill start seeing the limit of the fuel pump with e50 but we will see.

I say fuckit and just jump straight to E50. Once you get used to VT it's super easy to use.

VT has an export feature for CSV, is that what you are talking about? Glad you got it figured out.

The map sensor setting in the Intake Manifold Absolute Pressure gauge had me freaking out searching for boost leaks for something like a week and half. Once you get things figured out though VT is great.

So the only issue i have with vt now and its a pretty big deal is that i keep getting these U codes come up that never have before with the ap. Not sure what the issue is, everything works fine and i cant disable the codes in vt either. Ignore the overboost one since obviously i was hitting fuel cut.

    Anyone else have these problems?

Does anyone know if we can run full e85 on a system with a return that bleeds pressure down? I would think since the pressure bleeds down that maybe there wouldnt be hardly any fuel sticking around in the hpfp to cause that sticky carbon shit that siezes the pump. Im no fluid dynamis genius or anything, just a thought. I dont want to be a test mule for that or anything just curious if anyone on the forum had tried it.

There is no real performance gain between E50 and E85. Numerous studies and tests have shown all it does is consume more fuel by volume.

E85 is just easier and cheaper to get. Only one station by me sells straight e50 and its 20 miles away. E30 and e85 available a couple blocks away.

50/50 E85 + 93 octane is like E46. Close enough and ridiculously easy to manage.

The only long term success that Ive seen was S-1 in the fuel pump

I have not seen those codes. You could get on the VT forums and ask there are a lot of smart people there. You can also as @steve@versatune as he is on the forums.
