Hey. Just because there is duck tape all over the harness does not mean the wiring is FUBAR. Said no one ever.

Well you should be a certified mazda wiring pro after the mess you fixed in the 3.

This is True. As long as when you say “Certified Mazda Wiring Pro,” you mean wire changer.

Quick update. Speed Solutions has completed the build, and should be shipping in a few days. Being in the middle of my crazy season, I do not know when I am going to have time to put it in. Might have to put in a few all nighters to get R done.

Chris does amazing work. Here are a few of the pictures he sent me.

Quick update on my progress or lack there of. Engine accessories are slowly being installed. Once I turn the engine around, I’ll get the exhaust side put together.

Finally started the the tear down on the engine that I wanted to use for parts for a build. This block got some stunky funk smell. One of the head bolts was loose. Defiantly looks like a head gasket fail. I hope the head is okay.

Pistons and crank will come out tomorrow.

I’ll venture a guess, and go with “whenever my engine makes noise” intervals.

Been a while since I updated this thread. Busy season has finally ended!

Finally got around to measuring the components and have determined the cause of failure was overheating and warping the head. Measuring corner to corner I can fit my 6 thousandths feeler gauge under my straight edge. So head is trashed!

Anyways, engine was installed a while ago. I had trouble doing it all by my lonesome, but eventually got her in.

Got the lights put in and realized that they are shit Knock off HID’s originally wired for Halogen bulbs, those have got to go!

I put on the bumper, installed an OEM fog light kit, put the tires on and buttoned everything up. My dog is tired!

    Time for a bath!

Vacuumed the AC system and charges with Artic Synthetic 134a

    Happy wife!

Engine is broken in now, with about 2000 miles on it. Time to start tuning!

    Nudes?
[doublepost=1538149213][/doublepost]Also 6 thou is definitely too much to seal but there's enough meat to have it machined straight again

Almost 10k miles and 9 months without a hiccup. Out of no where, she no worky no more. Transmission decided it has no more to give. The interesting thing is that it was fine one second and the next nothing. Absolutely zero warning. Anyone have any ideas as to what may have happened? Oil was burnt and dark brown.

Drive, reverse, as well as manual input 1st and 2nd nothing works. When I am in drive, and I give it some throttle it just free revs. If I rev past 4k it sometimes jerks briefly and/or auto shifts from 1st to 5th.

My local LKQ Corp had a transmission w/t-converter with 90k miles on it for $300, so I went down and picked it up. Not a bad price considering it came with a 6 month warranty

Could have debris stuck in a line on the transmission

That may be the case, but I decided to just swap the transmissions. The color of the fluid after 9k miles is screaming internal troubles.

    Out with the old,

In with the New (to me)

I decided to go with full synthetic Liquid Moly ATF 1200. Certified Toyota T-IV and JWS 3309, which is recommended in the manual. I have not seen many running liquid Moly, so I figured why not. [IMG][IMG]
