    Hey all!

I was bored last night and dreaming of a k-swapped MS3 (dreams, not plans) and wondered what first gen gearing would look like at 9500rpm (note - gen1 and MS6 have the same ratios). I could not find a calculator online that would easily take input of a 6 speed trans with 2 main ratios so I fudged it myself. It took some maths and some knowledge stealing from the internet but I think it's a handy little tool.

Ignoring north of 8000rpm it's nice to see what MPH you'll see in each gear with changed tires and whatnot.

    Example with stock size tires:

    Hopefully it's correct!

No, I would like to join

How possible is this K-swap? Would the engine actually fit? I am assuming it is pretty damn close to the same size.

This is starting to snow ball...

Okay so I have been thinking about it... Can't say I've done any real research beyond looking at photos and thinking about it at night in bed. Considering the MS3 uses three motor mounts, and two are on the transmission, that means if you can fabricate a trans adaptor plate (and figure out a clutch solution) you're set for 2/3 of the mounts. The third mount on the passenger side is on the same location as a K series as well so I imagine it wouldn't be all that difficult to fabricate something custom. I can't say I've measured a K vs. a disi though to see how the motor would actually fit under the hood. I can't see it being all that much larger or smaller though.

Then, since it's a PI engine to begin with you have every option in the world so far as ECUs go. A standalone, race pack dash, and real traction control would make for a crazy badass vehicle as well. Then you've got a rev range that allows for low enough tq to be nice to the trans even at 800whp or more. Being that the MS3 trans is much stronger than any that comes factory on a K hey maybe we're on to something here.

Obviously everything is harder than it initially seems but hey, I got a shell and hopes of getting a better job within a year or so, so maybe it'll be something I'll dig into further.

Anything is possible with the right people and funds. I am happy to help where I can.

I am about to pull and engine on an MS6 and can take some measurements to see if this is possble for the freaks out there.
