Engine oil reports from my 2012 Speed3, stock engine:

    upload_2017-7-29_7-26-50.png

(note: the Supertech seemed to change formulation slightly and around the same time the "Dexos" certification labeling appeared. I have labeled the one sample accordingly)

Transmission oil reports from my 2012 Speed3:

Engine oil reports from my 2007 Speed3 with Wiseco OTS pistons (note: the engine was rebuilt around 60k miles):

Currently the 2007 has the Supertech 5W-30 full synthetic Dexos in it and next oil change I am going to try the Mobil1 0W-40 "European" car type gas engine oil.

    Brad Penn 10w40
Manley 2618 Pistons and H-Beam rods.
Built motor had 57,800 miles at time of analysis
Oil had 2800 miles. Tuning for 6th port (I switched from meth injection over the winter) was done on this OCI, plus my normal driving. So atleast 2 dozen, if not more WOT pulls.

The last one I did before building the motor. Working the stock block pretty damn hard, E85 mix, methanol. Mobil 1 Extended (15K mile oil). Details are in the report:

First report is the last one before I spun the bearing on cylinder 4 on my way to dragon camp. The second is from the oil after the spun bearing. I was running Rotella from the first day I picked it up brand new. 72,000 miles

Little update on how my engine is wearing. The motor probably had about 12k on it at the time I pulled the most recent sample. It burns oil like a mofo (I've been told Wiseco has a rep for this due to crappy OCR design), but static compression has gone up since I bought it 5-10 psi across the board and it continues to produce excellent oil reports and make great power. I'm not sure why the oil keeps shearing down other than I'm using the oil for autocross and with ECT's hitting 230+ at times, it's possible the oil's getting a little overheated.

So far seems like the Mobil1 "European" 0W-40 is in the lead as copper is the lowest in that report indicating the rod bearings are being well protected. I'll probably continue using this oil for the rest of the motor's life.

I just cracked 144,500 when I changed mine last week. I have an oil leak, so I added 1 quart, was about 1/2 quart low at change. Will send this sample out when I change the trans fluid.

The tale below relates only to my experience with Blackstone Oil analysis.

I had three samples which i sent in, two for my MS3 which were 10w-30 and one for my wife's CX-5 which uses 0w-20. i screwed up and didn't mark one of the MS3 ones and the CX-5 one and they got mixed up. I wrote a letter explaining what was in the three containers when i mailed the samples in expecting that an oil analysis place should be able to sort it out based on the rather large difference in viscosity.

when i received my reports back i had three separate reports telling me that the oil looked great and the viscosity was exactly where it should have been for 0w-20.

Basically they don't look at the shit and based on the mineral measurements i cant even be positive that they were for my oil as the two MS3 samples were with the same oil at similar mileages so the oil analysis should have been consistent. there were not two reports that could be clearly determined to be a different car running a different oil from the third sample.

in my opinion you are better off spending the money on better quality oil or more frequent changes.

    in my opinion yes
