As I type my CS RSB is going on. The concensus here seems to be to go to the stiffest setting...will do. I will report back. ALso getting the CS RMM (new one) installed, so hoping for less torque steer coming out of corners.....
[doublepost=1493246410][/doublepost]OK, so in retrospect I should have taken a test drive between the installs, but oh well. The handling is amazing! I had him put the sway bar on the stiffest setting and it is flat! I took a short drive down my backyard test tract on Usery Pass Road in Mesa, AZ and I like it! Very flat, the steering seems more linear, for sure. I will post the RMM eval on that thread, but spoiler alert: On a 1 through 10 very subjective scale, the NVH is +2 from stock, which I don't find objectionable. Definitely more vibration at idle, which increases with the AC cycling on and off, along with some noise at idle, but the whole set up is so much tighter.

Sorry for reviving an old thread but I figured it would be better to ask my (some what on topic) dumb question here than start a whole new thread.

So I recently bought a JBR .125 RSB and will be installing it soon. After reading this thread I will be running full stiff because why not. I'm also not too concerned about the welds failing since that seems to be in JBR's past and should not be an issue anymore.

My dumb NOOB question is this:

When installing the RSB, do I have to have the rear wheels unsupported (totally off the ground) to properly install it? Or can I use my raceramps to do the install?

The reason I ask is because my parking spot in my apartment complex is a bit tight and I don't have room to use a floor jack, but I have plenty of room to use my ramps. If the rear wheels do need to be off the ground than I'll have to use my little scissor jack to lift the car, lol.

    Thanks!

Ramps are fine, and actually preferred when torquing the rear endlinks.

man, all i do is revive old ass threads.

so not sure what the deal is nowadays, but i'm bout to drop $229 on a CS sway bar and they are going to charge $30 shipping? am i just too used to being coddled by amazon and many other sites?? has it always been like this with them?

Ahh I see you spelt white line wrong. Seriously though yes Amazon spoils us, $30 for the hefty bar actually doesn't seem too excessive.

ha! i was actually looking at white line as well. i don't know literally anything about them. i saw them mentioned here in this thread but i wasn't sure about them. i could do some more research. that bar may actually be a little cheaper. i guess the one thing is that the CS bar does come with the upgraded billet brackets (normally $80) so i suppose that's a good thing. likely i'm just being a baby.

i think i should do more white line research first.

Yeah there is shipping. Now they have 7th Gear, a version of Amazon prime and shipping is free, you get early access to new stuff, specials like scratches and dings too. I've been a part since it started and it's paid for itself.

You can buy a CS sway (14-18) on Amazon. Shipping is $38. Makes $30 not look so bad

i'm not entirely sure what to ask i suppose. how are the brackets/bushings that come with it? i don't think it's absolutely necessary to get the billet ones. just a bonus i think. looks like the whiteline is nearly the same size as the CS. also i don't see anywhere the % of stiffness it adds. perhaps it makes sense that it's similar to others with the 2 hole adjustment (though i'm sure there is going to be some diff based on spacing). do you run yours on the stiffest setting?

also thought about getting a FSB at the same time...but maybe starting with the rear first would be a good first step.

So the included hardware is perfectly fine. 4 years now, MANY track days(probably 20+ track days) and NO issues. Fancy billet mounts in my mind are marketing BS. This is from my own experience of course.

Ive been running it on the softer setting. I tried full stiff for my first time ever back when i was a track noob and i spun out like 5 times in the same medium speed corner so after that i moved it to the softer setting. Had to adjust my driving style but i honestly love it. It made such a night and day difference to the handling of the car. This season as i up my power, i MAY move it to the stiffest setting for track duty but we'll see how the rest of my setup deals(alignment and tires pressures).

the whiteline bar is 27mm thick. This ive heard is kinda massive? not sure. but it works.

as for FSB...it will help some with body roll but it will also counter the effectiveness of the RSB. on these understeer prone cars FSB shouldn't really be considered unless everything else has been dialed in. and by dialed i mean DIALED. not the pep boys down the street did my alignment and everything's LITTTTTTTTT. That is not dialed LOL.

If body roll is bothering you coilovers that dont suck(there are options) will fix that without the negative impacts of FSB. just something to keep in mind. Jumping from basic ST coilovers to the Bilstein b16s did more for me then any other single suspension mod.

wow, thanks, man! good info. i might just pop on this one then. turns out it's like $3 more but all the free shipping. :p

i really don't even care which one i get, per se. i just want it to be a good one and a rear sway bar isn't something that someone buys every day or even for every car. my last sway bar was a front top mount for my beretta. :D i just want one that will be as reliable as possible. body roll doesn't really bother me yet but i would not mind having less of it. i don't track the car or x-cross so the only rallying i do is on entry/exit ramps typically.

i'm also adding some lowering springs which, i suppose, may help a little in regards to rolling but i have always assumed it's more for aesthetics. perhaps my next mod could be better struts/shocks. i doubt i will do coil overs. them bitches are pricey af.

thanks again for the good deets.

you will enjoy the sway bar. it is definitely a nice "simple" mod that makes a difference and honestly its just a stiff bar. as long as its not breaking or rusting i think theyre all very similar lol. I went whiteline because it was an amazon pricing error and i paid $145 CAD shipped via prime so i jumped on that lol. price went up to 300CAD immediately after i placed my order LOL.

lowering spring will do more for looks...ride quality will probably take a bit of a hit though. Either way, for what it sounds like youre doing, a simple spring/strut combo with the rsb will be amazing.
