Took a day off riding the bike to show the Pu some love.

Installed a Tanabe Strut Tower Bar, JBR SSP, JBR Shift Knob and JBR RSB.
Ran into some trouble installing the RSB. I discovered that one of the end links was completely stripped off. No worries, ordered a new one and it will be fixed soon.

I also gave it the car a good wash. I'm really loving my new wheels.

Good work. I've always been a bit apprehensive working on anything fuel supply related when it comes to cars.
I was even a bit nervous doing the HPFP Internals myself back in the day but I nuted up and got it done. That install job is nothing compare to this job I bet.
Hopefully I won't have to replace my ITFP anytime soon.

It was honestly one of the easiest things I have ever had to do. It just hurt a little cutting the hole bigger and ruining that floor....

I mean, if you have the capability to drop the tank, go for it.

I wish! How awesome would it be to have a car lift at home? Or at the very least know someone who has access to one and would let you use it.

Returned my front signals back to OEM. Ordered some Alpine speakers and a small power pack amplifier. I wish my paint work would get finished so I could be driving it instead of thinking about stuff to change. Did I mention I smoked the rear reflectors too.

Got my audio upgrade started. This little power pack from Alpine does a great job. I’m using it for front and rear Alpine speakers. I left the Bose amp hooked up for the sub, rear fill, and center speakers. I’m a bit OCD so I re-wrapped everything in fresh harness tape. Cleaned up the harness behind the radio too. PVC speaker spacers should be here on Monday and I can finish this up.

Replaced the o-ring on the MAF sensor, found it fuckered when I cleaned it. Cars idling better now, go figure.

So this wasn't 'today', but over the last 6 weeks or so:

    - changed cabin filter
    - installed new horns
    - cleaned intake valves
    - installed passenger and trans motor mounts
    - replaced pcv valve
    - cleaned/updated/reinstalled OCC and tubing
    - performed TB bypass
    - installed downpipe (with 3 new studs on turbo...weee)
    - installed CS TMIC
    - installed new boost tubes/bypass hose
    - performed EGR delete
    - installed new BOV
    - changed serpentine belt
    - coolant flush
    - changed spark plugs
    - installed short shift plate
    - installed new shift knob

by no means was this in any type of order but somehow the car actually started up on the first try, has yet to catch on fire and has thus far put a smile on my face. few small things to shore up and i'll be ready for the summer!

I will say, it is 100% easier to pull this sucker out than leaving it in while reinstalling the transmission. Waiting on an axle c-clip from Mazda meow. 20190512_143142[1].jpg

When I pulled mine, I found out the factory cross threaded my driver side upper subframe bolt. I had to retap the hole to get that sumbitch back in.

Mazda likes to crossthread things apparently, like o2 sensors. Maybe it's the same guy?
