Here is how I attached the Harbor Freight Engine stand to the motor and it worked out well.

Here is how I mounted it.

You will need 3 threaded bolts m10x1.5 "length depends on stand" and 1 long thinner threaded bolt that you will but a nut on. The 3 go into bolt holes for the trans that are already threaded on the block. The 1 goes through a bolt hole that is not threaded.

I'm a fan of the socket spacer

Also this is breaking my brain. Seems like a ton of weight for 4 bolts.

Each of your wheels is only held on by 5!

I was also sketched out by this but it held without any issues. Just don't over torque them or you will hate life when trying to put that trans back on.

My motorcycle wheel has only one! :fearscream:

But really 250+ lbs supported on one end seems like a lot. I'm sure it's fine but that seems like a lot of shear? stress on the bolts

Should I do the math? I can, but I can tell you it will say its more than fine with a large factor of safety. The most likely part to see failure there is the aluminum block threads (which can also hold the weight just fine)

What if we wanted to put the clutch on while on the engine stand? Is that doable? Or what's the best way to get that on while engine is out of the car?

I actually did that and the pilot bearing while it was on the hoist before install. I had some plywood and a tire for it to half sit in. Worked really well.
