    Tools required...A bloody zip-tie!

I have been chasing an issue in my 06 Speed6 for 3 years. It all started with a mouse deciding to make a bed out of the cabin filter. Unknowingly I turned the fan on and blew filter fuzz into the evaporator core, which in turn caused the AC system to freeze up and quit. After cleaning out said fuzz every time I would run the AC in the car over the span of a week, the insulation under the carpet in the passenger footwell would become saturated with water and start to smell like a swamp. I removed the HVAC unit twice, replaced the case bottom(drain pan & tube). I also checked the sunroof drains, door seals, removed the windshield cowl and fender splash shield and sprayed high pressure water at those areas to no avail.

Finally, I was digging around some more looking for clues when I noticed the water coming out the HVAC drain and wicking back to the fire wall. I would only do this after the car had shut off and most of the water had dribbled out of the system. This slow drip would happen about 5 min after the system shutdown and continue for hours saturating the foam gasket around the drain tube and then into the passenger compartment.

I installed the "custom zip-tie component" 2 days ago and the swamp has become the sahara. Eureka...the amount of mental cash I have wasted will never be recovered and I may still be destined for the asylum but this problem has been recounted many times on the internet even among the MZ6 crowd. You saw it here 1st! custom ziptie.jpg

OMG is this it? I have the same issue for a while now. The water comes into the car from the black plastic part on the rear against the 'wall' above the carpet on the passenger side. Only the rubber inside/outside of this is missing, dont know of thats a problem. Looks like there's nothing stuck in the tube / hole btw, tried sticking some thick electric cable in it.

Will def. Try this tie-wrap trick . Its on the tube sticking out on the enginebay-side right?
