Not sure if the uneven spring heights are from them shouldering each other in the box, or if the cat fur on them is just super heavy. Looks like mild pitting on the base of the springs too. Cat fur is no joke...

I know on my forged motor the compression would be poop until it was 180 degrees or so. a) what is your hot compression, and b) is having poor compression when cold really something to be concerned with in a forged setup?

    a. No idea
    b. I figured it would be a bit low cold, but not THAT low. Remember, I have a much higher static compression than stock on top of also (supposedly) having a higher dynamic compression than stock or with CS cams.

    So very minor update:

Got tired of getting ignored by VersaTune, so put a line out to Cobb:

    2.PNG

    3.PNG
(Yes I know this makes me look dbaggy moreso than usual. Deal with it)

    4.PNG

So, my options are either Mazdaedit and this up and coming open source tuning solution called LibreTuner.
They were still lacking a stock 09 Genwon rom to look at, so I got that for them yesterday.

As a side note, I also filled up yesterday to the tune of 12.502 gallons at 2.259 per gallon and 228.5 miles for a grand total of 18.277 MPG; about 8 gallons of that without a working O2 sensor; I'm expecting better MPG this time around.

    Had a painful realization today.

    Fucked.png

The gist of this is that crower reground these based off of lobe center rather than static or true zero or whatever you want to call it, even after I told them that these install static and cannot be timed. This would certainly explain my massive drop in compression and struggle to make power even with all the timing in it.

Next time I have the chance, I'll probably pull the valve cover and lock the crank at TDC, then check to see where the cams are. Unlikely that I'll be happy with the results.

    Fuck crower, the cunts.

Crower being assholes? There's something new. Here's my review of them on their FB page. Still on their featured reviews lol.

Hmm what should I put in my off-road vehicle? Should I do a 5.3 LS swap, nah too generic...wait! I've got it! I'll put the turboed 2.3 that Mazda put in their Speed platform in it!

If Im going to spend that kind of money on a sand toy, I'm gonna make damn sure it's a pain in the ass to upgrade and modify, not to mention requiring a factory harness and ECU and expensive tuning solution to even operate properly.
