Is there a writeup on the splash shield? I recall reading about someone having a genwon compatible cap breather but not the splash shield bit.

@Maisonvi made a splash shield for me but it would hit the chain. I tried to modify it so that it would clear but it was too sketchy. You can also get no weld AN fittings and slap those on there going to a catch can. https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS+Perform...OJb6wtL1Iyb_IEBgsJylIX9SvoBzwsUxoCk1MQAvD_BwE

I'm currently considering just getting the pu valve cover brand new to be done with it, but man is it pricey.

    Hmmm...

Spending top dollar on a new OEM vs efficiently modifying current OEM?

    Enki has gone soft....

Remember that you are venting pressure, relatively low pressures until you're above 5k rpms. If you use dual breathers on the system all the pressure will be gone and you will be fine.

You can definitely go exotic on it, but exotic setups are more for creating windage in the crankcase and for promoting venting of fumes as well. If needed in the future, do you still have a PCV port on your intake?

I have dual -10 AN (5/8") hoses coming out the Radium plate as my evac currently, I just think it might not be enough for past 7k RPM.

7k at the power you've been toying with so far? Those 2 ports on the crank should be plenty.

Remind me why you had the valve port capped off?

One of my last logs has me spinning to nearly 8300. It's after 7k that I think I might have pressure building up.

As for the valve cover port, I had a bung welded to it but instructions weren't followed so it's not possible to use it with a TMIC (no clearance to TMIC inlet hose).

I skimmed through your thread from page 1-10 then stopped due to time suck.

Do you have pics of your bad valve cover port?

    From wayback:
    IMAG0756.jpg IMAG0755.jpg

The idea was to gain MORE clearance by grinding that section that sticks out down flush and welding the bung to that, but I guess the guy that did the welding forgot, so now it has less clearance than stock when using even an ultra tight radius 90 like this guy:
    61j53eYC6wL._SL1400_.jpg
Gist is, I can't mount the TMIC properly if this is in place.

Time to get a FMIC and let that turbo sing. You "probably" won't get killed on response, plus you will be out of traction before then anyways.

I don't have the fueling for "making the turbo sing" just yet. When I do, who says I'll even need an intercooler?

Found a new one for way less than what Edge was charging, went ahead and ordered it along with two more 5/8 filters for the PCV plate and an oil fill cap filter setup.

I won't be doing much more to the tune (aside from compensating for deletion of the intake mani bypass hose and MAFCAL stuff) until I've done a pull with the new valve cover in place.

Also going to modify the genpu valve cover baffle so it can actually drain oil t hat builds up, since everything will be VTA and it won't be able to siphon oil back into the head like normal.

The OEM baffle plate has the clearance for oil draining. You shouldn't have to modify as is.... even if you are VTA

What about buying a plastic oil cap, using an elbow off of that to a catch can on the passenger side where there is more room to begin with?

I've learned my limits with this build; simpler is better. I'm good at theory and design, execution is (painfully) lacking though.
I've purchased everything needed to vent the top side, some of it will be here this week, not sure on the valve cover itself though.

Minor update: Parts have started arriving; everything should be here by Sunday afternoon. Not sure if I'll get it all installed by then though.

Minor update. Did a new MAFCAL and am currently sitting 0/0 at idle; unsure as of yet for the other areas of the map but WOT also looks pretty good (if a touch rich, targeting 11.75, getting 11.6 ish).

Last map was 30-40% lean at cruise, and the one before that was 30% lean at idle...Progress is progress.

    As for the pull:
    2-2-20.jpg

Really not sure why it's holding on to power up top now; I didn't change anything other than the MAFCAL, and the fuel curve doesn't look that much different from the past run.

I'm guessing the drop in power is due to AFRs; it was 75f out when I did the log, so BATs got a bit higher than on the last logs. I bet it's still a bit rich in the middle.

Bonus cam photos (warning: fookin uuuge!)

    And le plugs (in order):

Number four looks like it's running a bit on the lean side; not unexpected with a stock intake mani.
