Ok so I was coming home from the gym car was acting normal everything going good, I stopped at the store got back in the car and it had trouble starting so I got nervous, when I got home I turned it off and tried to turn it on once again car struggled but turned on kept on turning the key to on and off and most of the times the car would crank and immediately turn off I connected my accessport to it and got codes pcm p0403 p2006 and p2009 the car is modified I posted the mods in the pictures

Have you made any changes or modifications to the vehicle lately? Seems like there's an issue with your VTCS (little shutters inside the intake manifold that open and close and affect drivability) and they might be stuck shut. I don't feel that a closed VTCS would cause the car to not start at all, but knowing if there have been any changes would help with diag.

the only things I’ve changed where the spark plugs and crankshaft position sensor but that was to try and fix the problem so the car was already not turning on before I changed them

What modifications are on the car? Have you touched anything on the car recently? Obviously, you removed the TMIC to get to the spark plugs, but have you done any other maintenance or made any other modifications?

P2006/P2009 are related to the VTCS system and will not prevent your car from running. It's odd that you got both codes at the same time though, as one indicates that the butterfly system in the intake manifold is stuck in a closed position, and the other indicates that the system is stuck in an open position.

P0403 indicates an issue with your EGR system, and more specifically that your EGR valve (or wiring to/from the valve) isn't working properly.

He has a JMF manifold according to that mod list. Was that a compiled list by the previous owner? I ask because of the crash bar note.

Was the crank position sensor put in timing when you installed it? If not, it can do some funky things to the car including not starting when cranking.

Aww crap. I didn't see the long ass list of parts.

In any case @Omar Lopez, in addition to what @Mauro_Penguin pointed out above, it sounds like the tune you are using is not fully taking account of what modifications you have. As evidence of this, the JMF manifold deletes the VTCS system and codes relating to it should therefore be disabled in the tune.

Also, it's very confusing that you're showing an AP V3 with the codes, but that the list of parts says it is using VersaTune.

Who is tuning the car, and what tune are you currently running?

All tunes have been deleted after the problem started so for now no tunes are installed I was going to get a pro tune when the Car decided to act up, the accessport was just recently bought because again I was going to get a dyno tune, for now I’m thinking of getting a e-tune due to the car not being able to run to take it to a dyno

Yes the list was from the previous owner, and yeah the crankshaft was put in timing the car cranks and switches on but immediately shuts off

Also to note sorry I forgot to say this but the car was running rich which is why I was going to get it dyno tuned but now since the car won’t turn on I feel forced to go with an e tune I just wanted to make sure that it’s the tuning of the car causing the problems

    You....what.

You bought yourself into a car you are woefully unprepared for. You put it on a stock tune with those mods? RIP. No wonder it won't run. Don't even try to start it again until you have a proper base map for those modifications. If it came with VT, why do you have an AP?

I would def flash it back to the tune it had on it. Car will not run/run like total shit without the proper MAF cal not to mention the many many other parts of the tune that are now wrong and could hurt the car if you try and drive it.

So car started acting up, then you de-tuned it and now it won't run at all? if you put the tune back on does it idle atleast?
Is that crack sensor plugged in all the way?

Flash the tune that came on the car when you purchased it and then start troubleshooting from there.

As the others have said, the car shouldn't run without a custom tune at this point. As such, the fact that it'll start but immediately die is absolutely expected. Basically, what is happening is this:

First, you have a 4" MAF sensor housing. The OEM MAF housing is 2.75" in diameter. That means the cross-sectional area of your current housing is 211% of the area of the OEM housing. The ECU can automatically correct for variations in MAF housing size up to about 15% without any real trouble, but you're waaaaay outside that margin of error. As such, the ECU has no idea how much air is flowing into the motor, and in trying to apply the OEM MAF calibration to your 4" intake, it is getting readings that indicate that little to no airflow is passing through the housing at all, so it dies.

Second, you've got some heavy-duty performance modifications (HTA3076, JMF manifold, built bottom end, etc.), but I don't see an aftermarket MAP sensor (that's MAP - Manifold Absolute Pressure, not MAF - Mass Air Flow). I bet you have an aftermarket MAP sensor, but the previous owner didn't remember to put that in his mod list. Without one, your stock 2.5Bar MAP sensor can only read up to 21psi of boost even if the turbo is producing substantially more than that. You probably have a 3.0Bar (good for around 28psi) or 3.5Bar (good for around 35psi) MAP sensor installed, but the ECU doesn't currently know about it.

So. Like @neganox, @Awafrican, @JohnnyTightlips, @SharksInSpace, and I have now said, put whatever tune was on the car when you bought it back on the car. The AP should've asked if you wanted to save that calibration when you married it to the car.

Alright guys so the car is running and I’m getting it logged, well I sent the first log to my tuner and he replied and told me that the car showed it had a large intake leak now I’ve been trying to find out what could cause the car to show that up and so far I could only think of the maf sensor, but again I want conformation and info if you guys had any idea on what it could be thank you again

Do a boost leak test. Check couplers and hoses.

Will try that tomorrow or as soon as I can, because I still have to make a boost leak tester
