First post here, joined out of necessity after realizing MSF.org was gone...

Just now I was driving my car home from work, and it made a little bit of noise and cut off. I tried restarting the engine, but it was no good. When I checked my APv3, it gave the following codes: p0011, p0016, p0340. I tried looking on Google for information, and the closest thing I could find was a post from MSF which I could no longer access. Now I'm stuck on the side of the road on a cold night with few options. My mods list is as follows: CS SRI/TP, AT HPFP internals, CBE, CS OTS tune to match mods. 2010 MS3, 126k miles.

Intake valve timing cel, crankshaft sensor cel, and a camshaft position cel. You could get lucky and try cleaning your crankshaft position sensor or replacing it. Hopefully your vvt isn't borked.

Does it help if I also mention that the engine made some "bad sounds" on startup this afternoon, and proceeded to make some ticking sounds while driving?

Like a hammer onto a vise? A few knocks at start? Then maybe a bike chain on a metal table?

Vvt shit itself. Take valve cover off, look for speed grooves above the chain. Vvt and chain time. Howto is posted here too.
