Hey guys - hate that this is my first post lol but I need some help..I've been trying to diagnose my speed 6 KR at WOT for quite a while now - details below:
    2006 MS6
    141k miles
Only mods are a cobb AP and TIP. a little background on my car - I bought it with 138k on it and it seems to run well for the most part - no CEL or anything like that. Had VVT and timing chain done on it. Once I got my AP, I did a few logs and noticed that I was getting some crazy KR at WOT (5+). I figured it was the injector seals that went out. I replaced them with Corksport seals and new top seals for the injectors. I put everything together and I am still having to same problem with the high KR..at this point it seems like I probably have a bent rod or something. I've attached a 4th gear log so you can see an idea of what I'm seeing. Is there anything else that could possibly be causing this amount of KR (besides a bent rod lol)?

Do you get KR with other gears? Do you get KR if you slowly increase to upper RPMs?

    1st and 2nd i get about 1-3KR at 4500-6000rpm
    3rd is about 3-5kr
4th and 5th is where it reads highest in KR (5-5.95)

If i slowly go to redline it wont show any KR only at WOT.

Pretty sure rod knock would be present in all of those situations. How do your plugs look? Gapped appropriately?

Step colder plugs for just a TIP? Is the car tuned at all or just mated to an AP for monitoring?

There are ways to diagnose a bent rod, I think a bit of research would help there.

On a side note, are you getting any codes related to missfire? Some higher end diagnostics tools can tell you which cylinder has the highest missfire count. Sure helped me diagnose which cylinder is causing me headaches with the plugs/coils/vacuum leaks, even before it threw any codes.

I haven't had good tun ability and high KR. Turned out my crank sensor was CCW (advanced) of the 20th tooth setting point.

You don't really need the timing tool to check the CKP sensor alignment. You can use a M6 bolt 35-40mm long to find the location of the crank home TDC. Be sure to mark the 20th tooth with a marker before you set the bolt and crank pulley to TDC position, otherwise in the car it is hard to count. This will not tell you if the crank or cam shafts are out of alignment with the crank pulley. There are no keyways to align, so you are at the mercy of whoever last timed the mechanical of the crank, pulley and cam sprockets.

If you have the timing tool, you can set the crank at the stopper bolt and confirm the harmonic balancer pulley is indeed in alignment. If you check the cams that is a lot more work.

Sorry to bump the thread but did you ever figure this out? I have the identical issue with my speed6 on a built engine.

What did you’re kr look like with the crank sensor being wrong? I’m suspecting the same thing after a shop installed my remanufactured motor. I get 5.95 kr at wot consistently with no way to correct it. Along with crazy cruising kr like holding 5.95 at certain times
