I have a 3d603. My Triumph has a plastic tank so this was a necessity. But I also use it on my FJ09. Ended up really liking it. I never wish I had a magnet. But no idea why people swap caps. Any pics or link to the listing?

Yeah I don't get the point of a keyless tank cap, seems like a good way for people to mess with your bike. Maybe the key was lost/ignition punched out in a theft, and it was cheaper to just get a new ignition rather than ignition+ matching gas cap?

Yeah maybe. I never leave my bike in unknown areas. I know one owner tracked it a few times. Faster fill ups maybe. The key less cap is a shit load cheaper then a new keyed setup from triumph when I looked shortly after buying this bike.

I wasn't big on that color at first but it ended up growing on me and I really like it now. I almost got a 2013 the same color before I picked up the red one. It would of came with a sw-motech daypack tank bag and some other stuff.

Yeah I was indifferent about the color at first. There was a black one for sale slightly cheaper but I liked yellow over black. This color grew on me too. It does look good in the sun up close.

You liking yours so far? I'm having a blast. I tried a KTM Super Duke GT, Ninja 1000, and 2018 Speed Triple. I still think the big Triumph triples are the best road engines ever. Smooth accessible power everywhere, and sounds like sex. Yeah the KTM is faster but not until high rpms and the difference really doesn't become apparent til you're into triple digits. I couldn't justify the price gap between this and the '18.

Even looking at the picture I like that color. I am loving mine. I love the torque no matter where your at in the rev range and anything above 4k rpm really sounds amazing.
From the reviews I skipped the street. I like the g650gs I had because it was more low end torque but I got sick of having to wind it out all the time to get speed and could really pass people at 55+ would take a day and a half with no power in the top end. I didn't want to be winding out the street all the time. Also being 6' at around 230lbs I liked the idea of the speed more and ever since I saw one I wanted one. The speed will pull at low mid and high rpm. Really comfortable for me also. I can go 2+ hours before needed a break.
I can't afford any triple digit speeding tickets. If I wanted triple digits I would have gotten something else and would go to a track.

If I had money I would get a set of saddle bags like yours. Does your bike have a tune on it or any mods?
Look into tuneecu. My bike came with a tune on it, I didn't know until I looked at it with tuneecu. I also reset the oil service light with tuneecu as well as look at codes and clear. Android app cost is like $10. I got a Bluetooth adapter.

Side note tuneecu for some things has you pull the headlight fuse for things. I found out today after doing spark plugs that if you don't put the fuse back the stater with click. No crank, all light on instrument cluster work.

after fill up fuel level will adjust after a few miles of riding. Not instant reading.

The fuel level is hilarious, idk why it isn't isntant. OH, one thing mine does........ It's SUPER picky about the neutral light. If I shut it off in gear, then put it in neutral, it sometimes it won't register. Even when it's running it sometimes won't light up when it's in neutral.

I used tuneecu on my laptop on my '99. Haven't tried it on the '13 yet. It runs so well I have no desire to mess with it lol. It has an arrow low boy exhaust. They tell you to pull the headlight fuse so the battery doesn't drain. If the battery dies in the middle of a flash you can brick the ecu.

I did NOT know we could do the android tuneecu, that's awesome. The laptop is a pain in the ass to install all the drivers. Which obd dongle did you use?

It depends on what your doing. on mine at least if I want to change maps I think I need a corded dongle. When I try to do the throttle body balance for fun yesterday it failed, same with trying the radiator fan. I am thinking because I am bluetooth. But I am using this one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NLQAHS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I would check the tuneecu forums for the correct one. Some models need a corded setup for flashing new maps. I know that about the fuse I just didn't know that it wouldn't let the bike start.

Since I can't leave stuff alone and be happy........... Triple is getting traded for a '17 FZ10.

I was going buy a miata or rx7 or rx8 but I just really don't have the space for a project car. So a new bike it is!

What I like about the FZ10 is
    A. Dealer support. Closest dealer is 70 miles. All the euro bikes are down in phoenix which is like 200+ miles.
    B. Jap ease of ownership/reliability. The FZ10 has everything I need (cruise control, ABS, Informative dash) and nothing I don't (crazy complex IMU's, TFT dash, electronic suspension, etc)
    C. It's going to be fast as hell. Like just insane. 4th gear roll on from 100-200 kmh is 4.09 sec. faster than a ZH2 (4.2), 1290 SDR(4.19) V4 Tuono (4.5), and Speed Triple (6+). My FJ09 was in the 7's. For context, I believe a stock C6 ZR1 is high 7's and the FAST speed 3's are high 6's. The other super nakes are probably faster if you were to line up from a standing start or stay in it past 120 mph but I just never go that fast. Roll on power is what I like and by the numbers........ this has plenty of it.
    D. It's going to be more exciting and playful than my speedy. The speedy was almost too refined.... I don't really have more fun riding it than I do my '99. This thing should rip power wheelies in 3rd and I have no doubt it will.

This one already has an M4 3/4 system (for glorious crossplane noises), case and frame sliders, Yamaha comfort seat, spools on the swingarm for a stand, and ecu flash. I'm going to add a quickshifter w/auto blip (up and down clutchless shifts) and FTECU autotune to it. And also replace the oem mirrors. Those jank bar end ones are so cheap looking and out of place.

The only shitty part is I have to drive all the way out to sandy eggo (8 hours one way) to get it, and I can't make it out there til 11/17. But they're holding it for me with my deposit. So all is good.

@mangosmoothie I like the lane splitter type mirror. I was looking at the fz10 before the speed since I like the odd way it looks, like a transformer. But the insurance on it was insane for me compared to the speed. The closed triumph dealer is now 45 miles away. The yahama dealer I like to go to for the wife's bike is 25 miles away.

I currently have a healtech quick shifter that ignition cuts and shifts at the same time. You just have to shift like you mean it on throttle or it will false shift you into neutral. I do not have it set for auto down. Don't know if I care enough to look into it.

I just picked up a vacuum brake bleeder ill get to try out when I do the rear pads and fresh brake fluid all around. Think of getting 5.1 instead of dot 4 for higher boiling temps. Because why not.

I was gonna put a healtech on the triumph. The forums and fb groups said I'd grenade the trans doing it but I've been clutchess shifting it anyway so its really the same as that lol

I tried throttle lock instead of cruise but that wasnt a good time. From what I understand, my insurance actually drops switching to FZ10.

I think progressive factors in CC. so FZ is under 999cc. Speedy is over 999cc.

The vacuum bleeders work pretty good. I've used them. But I still do the final bleed by hand once or twice.

Yeah iv'e seen that too. Talking about 4th gear. But from what I remember it was with the oem(triumph) quick shifter installed from factory.
That's nice about the insurance. I wish yamaha was cheaper for me just because it's a little closer and some days im lazy.
That's how I was planning to bleed my brakes when I get to it.

Just did a brake fluid swap with some 5.1, rear pads, and put new shoes on but have not had time to go break in the new shoes yet.
