We're gonna have a new segment while I work on my shit called "what did I just break?"

First up is this green plastic hose nozzle coming off a hose from my IM going to a plastic box on my block. What is it and where can I buy another? Thank you in advance.[IMG]

I'm running the Damond plate with their catch can mounted near the trans. It works well and was easy to install. I do recommend getting some colored tape or marking one of the hoses so if you take the can off you know which hose goes where. I initially had my hoses backwards

I think Damon sent me the wrong bracket for the trans-mounted Stage 1 catch can for my 2007 Speed3. I see nowhere that the L shaped bracket will screw into on the trans and have enough room for the OCC to stand upright.

Additionally they sent me 2 bolts...a 10 and a 12. The 12 is too big to fit through the bracket.

Can you send me a pic of yours installed to the trans?

Intake manifold off makes the occ job easier. And yeah I did that to my Pcv too. Replace oem. Buy 2 for when you break the new one. Pro tip. Oh and Damond sells the oem Pcv too.

OP Yup that's the PCV valve, can get them OEM from Mazda and get the retaining ring at the same time just in case.

As others have said great time for an OCC and PCV plate at this time. Damond motorsports all the way, you can buy their plate with a new OEM PCV valve. Their catch cans are great too

As for this it Screws onto the frame not the trans check their install instructions they have good pics and instructions

They have 2 mounting options. Frame and trans, the latter for those with CAIs. They just sent me this pic:

I follow now, give damond motorsports a call or email I know @Matt@DM has been great anytime ive had any questions and I'm sure you'll get squared away.
But unfortunately now we're starting to derail the Innisfilt thread.

Slightly off topic but relevant enough I'm asking here instead of a new thread.

I have my '08 CX-7, gonna change the PCV and I'm considering getting a new catch can too, since mine is old and I like the Damond ones and I am just overhauling the car in general.

The plate kit is just to replace a stock part that is plastic, is that correct? The way my existing OCC is mounted I've never really been happy with, but it's so tight in there I've just watched it and hoped it was ok. Since I'm going to have the manifold off and replacing the PCV, now's the time to do anything else. So I am trying to learn more about what I can do, and saw the PCV plate.

I've been searching around, if you can inform me or point me in the right direction to find the best info, I appreciate it.

The Damond plate replaces the plastic PCV plate entirely with an awesome CNC piece, adding in additional ventilation holes for a second catch can in addition to a different orientation for the PCV valve. If you are looking to add an additional can, you can get the vented can (which may be overkill depending on the crankcase pressure you are pushing), and that will give you a really good amount of ventilation, but really the PCV plate plate is unnecessary unless you want an additional can, or the OEM plate is similarly expensive.

Damond is of Top Tier quality and their Customer Service is awesome, I would honestly go to their website and call to ask him his opinion. They also sell PCV valves and can hook you up with the whole package. Contact | Damond Motorsports

    Thanks

I sent a message, someone else said they're very responsive.

I don't have any performance mods (only the catch can and a Forge BPV), I just want my car to stay as reliable as possible. Never had an issue besides some TSB work under warranty, 146,000 miles I'm doing bunch of maintenance on it to keep it that way.
