Unless you vented the block or something noticeably catastrophic, I would lean towards troubleshooting the light first.

My gauge shows 0. Oil light is on. I seriously don’t know wtf this would be unless the oil pick up tube literally dropped off when I changed my oil. That’s all that would make sense

Man, I totally understand the frustration. This is the same type of shit that happens to me on a seemingly regular basis lol. Let's take a step back for a second though. It had oil pressure just before, and was running great it sounds like. Then you changed the oil, now we have two separate gauges that are reading 0 basically. Is it possible that something catastrophic happened during the oil change and the motor is toast? Sure, it's possible I suppose. Is it the simplest explanation? Maybe not.

If it was me, I'd be going back and checking everything that you just touched. Hell, I'd probably throw a new oil filter on there just to rule out any weirdness that might have happened there.

Hope you get it figured out and it's something simple and not catastrophic.

I considered swapping the oil filter just in case but the oem switch being in the filter housing, it should still read more then 0 even if the filter was doing some weird shit(oem filter from Mazda btw).

I don’t know what it could be. I thought maybe I didn’t fill enough oil but it’s a little over full if anything. Even the oil that came out was clean. I went through it with my bare hands. Couldn’t feel any grit, no shiny shit.

I really don’t know what it is. I called my
Mechanic buddy to get the car on the lift so we can pull the pan and investigate. He’s like yea...sounds like you need a motor. We can take a quick look but yea...sounds like an engine. Of course.

I’ve struggled with every single mile since the motor swap went in. From a failed pressure plate, to a bad oil pump, to my waste gate falling apart. It’s been one thing after the next. Now this? I just don’t know. Drop 6-7k for another motor and hope it lasts or part out now and call it a day. I really don’t know. There’s a lot of real real good shit on the car.

Do you hear any knocking? Video sounds clean to me when you started it up.

Drop the oil pan and check the oil pickup line and bearings.

Yes. This will be my next step. If nothing suspect, if everything looks as it should, the motor will have to come out I guess.

I'm sorry man. Hang in there and trust that it's probably not as bad as it seems.

It was fun while it lasted. I learned a ton. What happens next I’m still not sure. I guess I can pull the pan myself and take a quick look. If all’s well then I’ll have to really make a decision.

just lacking motivation to even look at the car right now. Fucking thing.

Didnt you have questionable oil pressure with this engine from the beginning?

It could just be a bad oil pump, or broken pick up tube like you said.

Oil pump was replaced about 2 months ago with a new oem unit. After that pressure was fantastic even at huge oil temps. No issues until my track day.

Well. The moment we’ve all been waiting for,

I don’t know what to think. This is like the cleanest motor I’ve ever fucking seen. Look at the pan. Even the oil I drained out was clean. 0 shavings. What the fuck is going on man. I pulled the pickup tube it’s fine. Not clogged no cracks oring is there and it was tight. Oil pump is tight. Chain appears to be OK as well. Guess I need a motor or a part out.

Did you check oil pressure with a mechanical gauge and if so did it still read zero?

No. But both sensors reading 0? There’s no way. I’ve never ever seen the oil light come on this car. Wasn’t even sure if it works but it definitely works.
