Anyone try this combo? One person said no, but I never got a clear answer. Looking at it myself I don't see why it wouldn't work since the pad area is the same. Only thing I can think of is if in the middle it would touch a plate finger but I don't think it will.
Many clutch companies use the same plate then change the disc for each stage. If no one has done it I'll be the first and report back.

So I got the disc today and mocking it up, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Except for the little cutouts on the pressure plate but the oem disc goes right over these too. The pucks could possibly catch on this but I moved it by hand it worked fine. Can actually move the pressure plate with the friction from the disc just by hand pressure.
Came like this in the box with the plastic broken :( Seems to be ok tho.

Here you can see the little cutouts on the pressure plate.

Don't know if it'll pass tech inspection tho. The inspector is pretty tough.

Pass tech inspection? Are you talking about SCCA or like state inspection? I doubt anyone would take the time to mess with the clutch fork boot to find out what clutch and flywheel is installed.

lol wont know for a while. My block is at the machine shop and I ordered Manley pistons on Black Friday and they're still on backorder directly from Manley. I bought them from Sp63.

Some thoughts - Beware that the 6puck clutch disc has a certain friction coefficient. It is rated/made to be utilized with the ACT pressure plate, which in my understanding has a higher clamping force than the stock pressure plate. In addition -
    You have the
    1) Fidanza flywheel, which is technically designed to work with OEM clutch disc/pressure plate,
    2) ACT 6puck clutch disc that was designed to mate with ACT fw/pressure plate
    and
    3) OEM Pressure plate that was made to work with OEM flywheel/clutch disc.

There are plenty of dimensions (mainly thickness and offsets) that could not quite be designed to work together. Worst case scenario they could be too tight or too lose and last less or have pedal issues, or if lucky, land somewhere in the middle and provide you with a working combo that lasts for the life of the disc.

However, I would not expect to get the full utility (tq rating) out of the upgraded ACT 6puck disc, without the appropriate ACT or some other increased clamping force pressure plate. Very curious how this turns out in the long term. Happy you got the sprung disc tho, an unsprung disc esp with the lighter fw, becomes a less pleasant experience to drive, without any added benefit (if its the same friction material).

As an aside, after some fiddling around - The ACT flywheel part number 600521 is the replacement for 600520 and is fully compatible with ACT 6puck clutch and ACT pressure plate. This is not so much related to the original post as it is to the updated ACT flywheel, but I figured I could throw it in here.
